At Epic Corals, these are our Top 3 Favorite Beginner Corals for hobbyists looking to add movement, color, and success to their reef tanks!

Green Star Polyps (GSP)
One of the hardiest corals in the hobby! Their bright green polyps create a beautiful waving effect in the flow and can quickly add life to your aquarium.

Pulsing Xenia
Few corals are as mesmerizing as Pulsing Xenia. Watching the polyps pulse rhythmically throughout the day makes this coral a favorite for both beginners and experienced reefers alike.

Leather Corals
Leather corals are forgiving, adaptable, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Their flowing polyps add natural movement and they're generally easy to care for in a wide range of reef systems.

These beginner friendly corals are a great way to build confidence while creating a vibrant and thriving reef tank.

🦐 Small shrimp, BIG benefits!

Peppermint Shrimp are one of the most useful additions to a reef tank. Not only are they fun to watch, but they're also known for helping control unwanted Aiptasia anemones that can quickly become a nuisance in your aquarium.

These reef-safe scavengers spend their days picking through rockwork, cleaning up leftover food, and helping keep your tank tidy. They're hardworking members of any clean-up crew and a favorite among reef hobbyists.

Tiger Conch Snail!

If you're battling dirty sand beds, leftover food, or nuisance algae, a Tiger Conch can be a game changer. These reef safe snails spend their days cruising across the substrate, sifting through the sand and consuming detritus, uneaten food, and organic waste before it has a chance to impact water quality.

Not only do they help keep your sand bed looking bright and clean, but their constant movement helps prevent dead spots and keeps the substrate healthy.

A healthy reef starts from the bottom up, and Tiger Conchs are one of our favorite natural tools for maintaining a cleaner sand bed.
