🚨 Protect Your Cats from Bobcat Fever 🚨

We’ve recently seen a rise in cases of Cytauxzoonosis (commonly known as bobcat fever)—a serious and often fatal disease in cats spread by ticks.

Bobcat fever is caused by a parasite transmitted through tick bites, and once symptoms appear, the disease progresses quickly. Signs can include:
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Fever
• Difficulty breathing

Sadly, even with treatment, this disease can be deadly.

The good news? Prevention is your best defense.
✔ Keep your cat on year-round flea and tick prevention
✔ Reduce exposure to wooded or high-risk areas when possible
✔ Check your pets regularly for ticks

Even indoor cats are at risk—ticks can hitch a ride inside on people, dogs, or clothing.

At Halo Animal Hospital, your pet’s health is our top priority. If your cat isn’t currently protected, give us a call—we’re here to help you choose the best prevention plan.

🐾 Let’s work together to keep your cats safe and healthy!

We couldn’t let the week go by without taking a moment to recognize our incredible clinic receptionists.

They are the first voice you hear on the phone and the first faces you see when you walk through our doors. Every day, they make sure our clients and patients feel welcomed, cared for, and supported from the very start.

Their role isn’t always easy, but they handle it with patience, kindness, and a genuine smile. Our clinic simply wouldn’t be the same without them.

The next time you visit, please take a moment to thank our receptionists for all the hard work they do—we are so grateful for them!

National Volunteer Week:
The Heartbeat of GetFixedOK!
They say "many hands make light work," but at GetFixedOK, our volunteers make miracles happen.

Running a high-volume spay and neuter clinic is no small feat. From the early morning check-ins to the long afternoons, our volunteers are the engine that keeps us running. ❤️

Without this incredible crew, we couldn't fulfill our mission to provide affordable services and reduce pet overpopulation in our community. Their "hard work" isn't just labor—it’s lives saved.
"Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart." — Elizabeth Andrew

To our GetFixedOK volunteers: You are the unsung heroes of the Oklahoma animal community. We see you, we appreciate you, and we quite literally couldn't do this without you. 🐕🐈
