WIDGET UPDATE!!
First, a very heartfelt thank you to Widget's supporters! Your donations and sharing his post means so much to us ❤️
Widget was taken to his specialist early in the morning on Tuesday. Around Noon that day his surgeon called with GREAT news. After sedation Widget had x-rays and scans to assess his condition, location of his organs, etc. The results showed that while Widget DOES have pectus excavatum, the funnelling of his chest is low grade. In addition, the general shape of his chest area is deformed. Despite these findings, the surgeon believes that Widget will live a long, normal life and the risks of doing surgery far outweigh the benefits in Widget's case. Widget will be able to grow - he'll just look unique. 😀 We'll have to be a bit more careful with our special little guy and ensure he is always in an environment that is safe for him but we don't mind at all! This is the best we could have hoped for!
For those of you whom so generously donated towards his care - your funds have been applied directly towards his hospital bill - thank you for lightening our load ❤️

Today, we humbly ask for your support for Baby Widget. He is going in for a big surgery today (we will post updates as we get them). He was born with a concave chest. Without this life saving surgery, his little heart and lungs will not have room to grow and function. Because EVERY baby at Tickle-Toe Acres deserves to live a healthy life with the chance to thrive.... Widget will have this $3,000ish surgery so he can live! We are a 501c3 Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, so donations are vital to our mission. His surgery cost will far exceed our available funding, but we're doing it anyway!! Baby Widget's life matters❤️! This is Widget. He has pectus excavatum (funnel chest). This is a congenital defect and without surgery his chest will become too crowded and his little heart and lungs won't be able to function. Widget is having corrective surgery on December 2nd. If you would like to donate towards the cost of his life saving surgery you can call the hospital directly or reach out to us.
