Bint Bint Sahlih has checked in foal to Treff-HavenLabeeb 🙌🏻 this cross brings forth one of the last chances (potentially THE last chance) for a total non-Nazeer outcross in New Egyptian breeding. We are wishing Sahli a successful pregnancy and an uneventful delivery 💞

These photos were taken at the Egyptian Agricultural Organization by James Kline in the mid 1960's. They are shared with DHA courtesy of Kristin Ellingsen & The Johanson Family. The names of the horses and dates were included on the backs of the photos written by Barbara Johanson. I'm happy to share that info if anyone has any questions, or if a horse's identity may be in question, as photos of some horses from that time are hard to come by.

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into the past as much as I have, and can appreciate each of these horses for the desert type that they posses and brought forward into the future.

💥 Offered for Your Consideration 💥

Ata Al Samir DHA affectionately known as Atticus

Atticus is a 14.1 hh 6 yo registered purebred Arabian gelding. He is started under saddle and can go in any direction. He is athetic and a very smooth mover, flashy with chrome.

He has excellent metabolics, and a very sweet, willing "in your pocket" personality paired with a kind eye. Atticus is definitely the "barn greeter" and LOVES human interaction.

He is broke to ride. He has extensive trail miles, and doesn't tire easily. He would make a fabulous endurance prospect, but will excel in any direction.

He's been around cattle and has done light pushing work. His sire was trained for sorting. I think he would make a lovely western competitor, as his sire also was bred and trained for Western Pleasure.

Atticus has been kept stalled, and also does well in a pasture/corral setting with other horses. He has been barefoot for most of his life but has been shod briefly in the past.

Atticus loads, hauls well, ties, stands for farrier. He's ready to go and find his next adventure!

Atticus is Egyptian sired, and his dam side has Davenport, Saudi Arabian, and Early American breeding. Atticus's sire has champions in his pedigree that succeeded in a variety of disciplines including Western Pleasure, Native Costume, Halter, and bloodlines that are proven in endurance horses. Atticus' dam side contains multiple Early American bloodlines that have been foundational to American Endurance Riding. This includes his tail female line to a 1932 Albert Harris Saud import. Albert Harris bred horses were the foundation Arabians of the famous Rushcreek Ranch stock. Needless to say, this boy carries a long history of athleticism in his genetics.

Atticus's half sister has competed and placed in 2 LD endurance races, and he is an excellent candidate for that sport as well.

Among the most influential sires in the history of Marbach State Stud, Hadban Enzahi (Nazeer x Kamla) brought the timeless refinement of the Egyptian desert to Marbach, Germany. Bred at El Zahraa in Egypt and imported in 1955, this grey stallion became the cornerstone of Marbach’s purebred Arabian program. His noble bearing, expressive dry head, and harmonious conformation made him an instant favorite and symbol of renewal for a breeding tradition that once centered around stallions like Bairactar and Jasir.

Hadban Enzahi sired a dynasty: daughters like Dschadaah, Marbach’s only World Champion Mare, and foundation mares Damirah (Simeon Stud, Australia) and Sanacht (Plum Grove Stud, USA) carried his legacy across continents. His other daughters— Sahmet, Dagi, Darsi, Molesta, Shari, Magda—and sons like Mali, Malik, Mameluk, Monrad, Sharaf and most notably Madkour I (a pillar of Ismer Stud) extended his impact throughout Germany.

Hadban Enzahi didn’t just shape bloodlines—he defined a type. His legacy remains alive in pedigrees and mare families to this day.

*Zaydoon was foaled in 1978 at the EAO. He was imported to the United States in 1981, and spent most of his life in the southwest. He competed in Arabian Stallion Breeding classes and English Pleasure classes, winning or placing in the top 4 every time in a variety of class sizes. He sired 40 offspring, of which only 6 are Asil Arabians.

*Zaydoon is by Mourad, a Gassir son, and out of the Ibn Hafiza daughter Wasla. These unusual sources of this blood add unique elements to the DHA breeding program. The Gassir blood available here is typically through Sabeel, and Ibn Hafiza blood through Sahlih.

*Zaydoon lives on through his daughter Ankara Z and her offspring. Here at DHA, Ankara Z produced Umaizah DHA sired by Treff-Haven Latif, and Musafir Al Razeel DHA by Musafir Almubarak.

HamraaBintHalimah DHA aka Hally & Masriyah DHA aka Suzy have checked in foal to Treff-HavenLabeeb 🥳

Hally’s pedigree features 3 non-Nazeer Egyptian grandparent generations (New and Old Egyptian) and one grandparent with incredibly rare Egyptian breeding hailing from stock imported to Weil and Bablona studs in Germany as well as Davenport breeding, and Sa’ud family breeding (Saudi Arabian). Hally brings unique and rare outcross potential, while Labeeb adds powerful old New Egyptian blood infusion to the mix with 3/4 of his grandparents bred in Egypt - unheard of in modern day Egyptian breeding.

https://desertheritagearabians.com/up-and-coming-horses/hamraabinthalimah-dha/

Suzy’s Straight Egyptian pedigree is an outcross between a high % Nazeer sire with a low Nazeer dam. She embodies the sought after beauty without sacrificing substantial build. The addition of Labeeb solidifies powerful structure while bringing classic desert beauty without being extreme.

https://desertheritagearabians.com/up-and-coming-horses/masriyah-dha/

Having a chance at these crosses is very special as Labeeb is the last non-Nazeer New Egyptian stallion available in the US, and has very few foals to date. These crosses also boast a
