Jessica Packer
I have been riding horses my whole life. Starting by going on rides in my dads arms as a baby until I came of age to sit in my own saddle and control my own horse. I started western only competing in gymkhanas, with a filly i was putting training on at the age of 6. Come the age of 8 i started light work in the English saddle. At the age of 9 I began competing through Pima County 4H

. I competed in gymkhanas as well as western and English riding. At the age of 12 my filly (Princess Meg) was started under saddle all on my own. By the end of summer we were ready to move into walk/trot showing all disciplines. At the age of 14 we moved up to intermediate western and started in roping and goat tying. That year we won the Pima County high point western intermediate buckle and went to State placing 8th in bareback. At the age of 15 I started to compete in jumping and started training on multiple horses for multiple disciplines. At the age of 16 I was competing in gymkhanas with a 4 year old stallion (Crush the Competitor) I was a licensed groom as well as a pony rider for the Arizona Horse Racing Department from 2016-2022. I competed in the 2017 Mustang Tip Challenge placing 8th overall out of 14 others from places all over the southwest. Now i share my knowledge with any person who wants to learn more about horses. From safety to riding I work with all ages. Not only do I offer coaching but I also work with owners to help in their journey with their horses with my Mobile training. Today I still compete and work on growing my knowledge every day.

Tad bit about how we are running Jackpot Barrels for this month:
-Students can sign up for student jackpot for $20 - Pot money is only paid out to the students signed up - 100% pay out meaning, all the money that comes in will turn around back to winners of each division.
-Open is for anyone! Also 100% payout - Students who cross enter in both student and open (yes that is allowed) will only run one time and their time will be carried into both pots - Students pay $20 for open, everyone else pays $40
-Students do not have to enter this! It is supposed to be a fun way to make a little cash! Students can run for one pot of their choosing OR BOTH!
-If you have questions please comment! Someone else might have the same question.

As everyone knows, I try to make everything as fair as possible without handing out participation awards. I put some thought into our jackpots and this is what we are going to do.

Student Jackpot
*$20
*Only for Outlaw Equine Students
*100% payout for the April gymkhana

Open Jackpot
*$40 for non-students (this included Jessica)
*$20 for students
*100% payout

A student can enter one or both.

If you enter both student and open pots, your time from the student ride will carry over to the open unless you request and get an approved open ride.

In any Jackpot there has to be at least 2 entries to run the Jackpot.

April gymkhana there will not be jackpot poles.

Mary’s first canter 🥰 I am so blessed to be able to do what I love. That big smile my students get when they are enjoying horses or get something right, it is an amazing feeling. I am so lucky and grateful to be their coach.

Are you ready for this wild event?! It is a combination on speed, turning, and weaving/ bending. This will show the trust between horse and rider as well as rider control. It’s a lot to remember and horses want to turn and every object but riders have to look past it and ride to the correct barrel or pole. A true challenge but creates a fun O E for Outlaw Equine. What a great way to end our 2024-2025 gymkhana series!

Potluck sign ups are attached. If you haven’t signed up yet, please comment soon.

Only 1 more left before the end of the series! As we get closer to the end I want to remind everyone that this is a FUN FAMILY event, something for you/ your kids to work towards. No matter how this event turns out, or how your run was, or how others did, it is important to remember to stay happy. Learn from your mistakes and grow, learn from others and grow, this is all about learning and experiencing and growing and being happy.
