🚨 MEET SABBATH A897699 🚨
I was going to hold off on sharing this boy because things weren’t looking so good for him.
We didn’t think he’d make it more than a few days, but I’ve had him for three weeks now ❤️

⭐️PENDING ADOPTION⭐️

Valentino 3 ❤️
**AT HUNTERS KITTEN LOUNGE**
M, 5 years

This dapper gentleman is sure to bring charming companionship to any home! He loves nothing more than being around people or other animals and is an absolute sweetheart. Valentino is equally content with chasing toys as he is with napping and cuddling in exchange for pets (in fact, he demands it). His requirements for affection started when he walked right into his finder's home and decided inside life being loved was the best life!

Valentino is extremely laid back and has done well with introductions to dogs and other cats. He would likely do well with respectful children of all ages.

Valentino is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If interested in adding this handsome boy to your family, please fill out the adoption application on our website 🙂

You can also book a visit to meet him at Hunter's Kitten Lounge! https://hunterskittenlounge.org/appt-booking

This is Double 🤍
She is a beautiful, gentle 10-year-old girl who is simply scared and waiting for someone kind enough to understand the difference. Double is good with other cats and would love nothing more than to go home with her sister Sissy or her calm, friendly pal Oreo, who already has a way of putting her at ease. She may take some time to come around, but when she does, you will have earned something rare: the trust of a cat who does not give it easily.
Fixed, vaccinated, wormed & microchipped.

Senior kitties don’t belong in the shelter. Please consider adopting Arnold!

05/29 ❤️ ❤️ Arnold was just FOSTERED by our lovely Krista, who will shower him with the best love and care. Thank you!!!
05/25 ❤️ Arnold is a beautiful senior boy looking for a safe and loving place to spend his remaining time. He needs a dental, which PACC can provide, and he's also on a daily med for hyperthyroidism. Arnold is just the nicest boy, laying quietly next to you in his kennel or happily standing up to take in all the love and cuddles you will offer. We would love to see Arnold leave as a pre-adoption so that we can feel confident he is in his final home. A boy this great certainly has earned that comfort. Pictures and videos in comments.

Do not let the name fool you! Boogieman is not scary. Not even a little. 👻
This gentle 4-year-old boy gets along great with other cats and has probably never intimidated anyone in his entire life. He is easygoing, good-natured, and genuinely likable, and he has a special buddy in Church, the sweet fluffy gray boy who shares his space and his energy.
If you are considering either of these two, ask us about the other — they would make a wonderful pair in a calm, happy home. Fixed, vaccinated, wormed & microchipped.

FIV is not a death sentence and FIV+ cats can safely live with FIV-. Read this shared post to learn more!

Alright, we are going to run this one back because we are still getting a lot of potential adopters who misunderstand what an FIV diagnosis means for a cat.

FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and the second people see those three letters, they panic. Now I do get it. It sounds scary, but most of the time, it is not what people think it is.

First, I'll go over how it spreads.

FIV is mainly transmitted through deep bite wounds. This cannot be spread by sharing food bowls, using the same litter box, or casual play. It is not something your cat is just going to “catch” from being around an FIV+ cat in a normal home environment.

So yes, FIV+ cats CAN live with FIV- cats safely in the right home, and we see it all the time.

Now let’s talk about what it actually means for the cat.

Most FIV+ cats live long, normal lives. I am talking full lifespan, normal. The “immunodeficiency” part just means their immune system can be a little weaker, so if they do get sick, it might hit them a bit harder. That’s it, that is all it is. Now I will say stress can induce a short sickness, and that goes back to the immunodeficiency part of FIV. Imagine someone paying you no mind because you cannot eat gluten... (I say that because I can't eat it, lmao, so I am sorry if that applies to you as well.)

They are NOT constantly sick.
They are NOT fragile little glass cats.
They ARE normal, goofy, loving, and chaotic cats.

What they do need is pretty simple.
Regular vet care
An indoor life that allows them to stay safe and healthy
A family that will actually pay attention if something seems off

That is literally it. There is also no risk to humans, as this is a CAT-SPECIFIC virus.

The hardest part of FIV isn't the virus itself; it is people not being able to see past the label.

People see “FIV+” and scroll right past them. Meanwhile, these cats sit in rescue for months, sometimes years, when they could have been in a home this whole time.

And honestly, a lot of our FIV cats? They are some of the sweetest, most laid-back cats we have. They just want a couch, a window, and someone to love them.

Lastly, if you do not want to take the word of the cute little graphic I made for you, enjoy this light read from Cornell University on FIV https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv
