Paws, Prayers, & Promises is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization dedicated to caring for animals and their people in our community, consisting of Polk County, NC, Landrum, SC, Campobello, SC, and Gowensville, SC. We have no facility; no cages, no kennels, no chains. We are building a bank of folks who generously volunteer their time, homes, and hearts i

n order to help. Our foster volunteers are the heart of our program. We anticipated a “soft” opening in October 2015 as we transferred Po’Kitties to Paws, Prayers, & Promises, but we have already been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of the community. And that’s a good thing, because the need is greater than ever and greater than we even imagined. We are the sole provider of spay/neuter and food for our Po’Kitties TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program. Additionally, there are many folks in dire straits who need pet food and other assistance. Our greatest needs at this time are for foster volunteers, pet food, and donations. Pet food may be dropped off at P3 Consignments, 112 E. Rutherford in Landrum, Tuesday through Saturday from 11-4. Paws, Prayers, & Promises will be offering assistance for people who, at the end of their lives, have no place for their beloved pets to go. We believe that these pets can be re-homed and live out their lives in a loving environment. When these animals can be cared for by loving family members or neighbors, Paws, Prayers, & Promises can supply food, litter, and basic vet care. When there is no one to take the animal, we can place them in safe, loving foster homes until the appropriate new home can be found. We will also be offering assistance to animals and their people in dire straits – those in battered women’s shelters, those who are losing their homes, those on a fixed income without the ability to feed their beloved pets. We believe that with a little assistance, many animals can remain in their current homes instead of being dumped, taken to animal shelters, or euthanized. We are proud to partner with P3 Retail for Rescue.

Butters is looking for a forever home! Mayleigh has done an amazing job of fostering Butters while she was in really, really bad shape, but now she is doing quite well. She is good with other dogs but not so much with cats!

She will need to have her insulin each day but it is easy to give and very inexpensive. This would be a foster to adopt as she is not spayed yet, but we will pay for that when the vet thinks she is in good enough shape to have it done.

Butters is fully housebroken and does well in a home.

This cat was left in a carrier behind a business in downtown Landrum. There really is no good enough excuse for dumping animals in our opinion.
This cat is about 5 years old, no microchip, but some one did once care enough to spay her.
We are posting her here in case anyone is missing her as sometimes the folks who dump animals are not the owners.

A kind gentleman was taking this cat to the vet this morning because he has a wound on his neck. He is part of a feral colony and he got loose and crossed the street going towards the church and woods. If you see this cat please call or text us at 828-243-1852.
