We usually keep things lighthearted here on our page, but today we want to talk about an issue that’s close to our hearts—and the hearts of so many in our community.

Spartanburg County has the chance to pass an animal care ordinance that will require all breeders to be *licensed
*ensure they are providing adequate care
* limit the number of dogs to no more than 20 per property.
This isn’t about limiting responsible breeding- Its about insuring that every animal receives proper care and attention and putting a stop to inhumane, high volume breeding practices. This ordinance is a vital step toward protecting animals and holding breeders to humane, enforceable standards.

The goal is clear: to empower Spartanburg County residents to advocate for animal welfare by promoting common-sense ordinances that ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of animals. Our local shelters and rescues are overwhelmed, and it’s time to address the root of the problem.

You can stop by The Southern Pet to sign in support of this ordinance—we’re proud to be a voice for the voiceless. While you’re here, grab one of our orange T-shirts for $10—all proceeds go to P3 Animal Assistance Foundation, an organization doing incredible work for animals in need.
