ADOPTION UPDATE: MOCHI!

Mochi fka Manhattan has officially settled into his forever home and even has a new name — Mochi!

His family says he’s doing amazing and getting along better and better with his new big sister, Sesame. Just look at these two! 🥹

Mochi is incredibly sweet, completely loved by his new family, and in their words, “exactly what we wanted to add to our family.” ❤️

This is what rescue is all about — seeing an animal find the place where they were always meant to be.

Athena is one of our longest residents and has been waiting THREE YEARS for her forever home. Transport is available anywhere in the continental U.S. for serious adopters. ❤️

Athena may be a purebred Bully, but all she truly wants is to be loved.

She came to Lodi Animal Services as a stray with another dog. Although her previous owner knew where she was, he chose not to reclaim her. After years of being repeatedly bred for profit, Athena was discarded when she was no longer useful. She arrived underweight, frightened, and unfamiliar with the love every dog deserves.

Since joining Better World Rescue, Athena has blossomed. She now enjoys a warm home, good meals, cozy couches, and plenty of affection. She loves cuddling, has the cutest little "motorcycle" bark, and is happiest relaxing beside her favorite people.

Athena prefers women but has learned that patient, kind men can be trusted too. She may be unsure when meeting new people and might growl at first, but with treats and a few minutes of patience, she's usually asking for cuddles.

Athena would thrive as an only dog or with a calm, very submissive male dog introduced slowly. She can be pushy when first meeting other dogs, so proper introductions are important.

She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, crate trained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. She's still excited on walks—likely because she never got to enjoy them before—but at home she's a laid-back couch potato who simply wants a family to call her own.

MEET ROCKET!🚀

Rocket is a 2 month old female kitten that is looking for her forever home. While Rocket can be shy and hide, she easily comes out for toys and treats. She loves being around other cats and playing with them and would do amazing in a house with a playful cat.

Rocket has met cats and children and done fine, she hasn't met any dogs but with a proper introduction she should do okay. Rocket is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and chipped.

We're looking for a short term foster for Lumi!

Lumi needs a short term foster through the month of October, who wouldn't love to spend the fall season with this love bug.

Lumi is a 10 year old certified good boy that needs a foster while his current one is traveling for work. Lumi is blind but that doesn't stop him. He walks great on leash and is a well behaved boy. He is a couch potato that enjoys walks here or there but isn't too active.

Lumi does well with others dogs and has not met cats but might do okay. If you're interested in fostering (or adopting) please fill out an application and a volunteer will reach out within one business day.

Coco (Shasta) is a true social butterfly. She loves everyone she meets — dogs, cats, people — and has plenty of face kisses to share, whether they are requested or not.

She is a smart girl with lots of energy, so daily hikes, exercise, and agility training are a must. Despite her size, she is still very much a puppy: curious about the world and excited by all the new things she is discovering now that she is living her best life — toys of every kind, treats, chews, dog friends, people, new smells on walks, a soft couch, and her latest favorite: the pool.

Coco is trying very hard, but she is still working on her house manners, including potty training and learning which things are not toys — shoes seem to be at the top of her list. She sleeps soundly through the night, does well in her crate, and walks and runs nicely on leash.

With consistent training, structure, and daily exercise, Coco will make a wonderful family dog. She is loving, playful, smart, and full of joy.

Coco (shasta) is dog, cat, and kid friendly but still has a lot of puppy energy so she might do better with older kids and dog savvy cats. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and chipped.

All Better World Rescue dogs come with complimentary group or private training to help ensure a successful adoption.

Smalls is a very friendly and social cat. He loves to be held and cuddle. He is active but not naughty and doesn't get into stuff he's not supposed to. Smalls is a lovebug that will brighten any families household.

Smalls has met cats and dogs and with a proper introduction he does great. He has not met any children but is suspected to do fine with them. Smalls is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and chipped.

Raindrop is still searching for a new foster. This shy and timid girl needs sometime to warm up to new people before she blossoms into her full potential. Raindrop is a sweet dog once she has gained your trust and is a loyal companion. She enjoys walking and destroying her favorite toys.

Raindrop is best as an only dog and would do well in a house without cats or children. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and chipped.
