We can offer low-cost spay/neuter prices because private donations and grants help off-set the true, higher cost of spay/neuter procedures. Humane Ohio believes that all animals should receive the highest quality veterinary care possible even if the services rendered are at a reduced cost. Our clinic uses state of the art instruments and equipment, all spay/neuter surgeries are performed by licensed veterinarians (DVMs) and every patient receives a brief physical exam and pain medication.

Mr. Winker made his 13abc debut this morning, and we think this handsome little guy handled his moment in the spotlight pretty darn well!

At just 4–5 months old, Mr. Winker may be missing an eye, but he certainly isn’t missing any charm. He is a tender-spirited, affectionate kitten who loves attention and has plenty of love to give. He can be a little cautious at first, so slow introductions and a family willing to give him time to settle in would be best. Once he feels comfortable, though, his sweet and loving personality really comes through.

Today, on World Pet Remembrance Day, we remember the pets who left paw prints on our hearts long after they left our sides.

Happy National Dog Day to all of the good boys, good girls, weirdos, troublemakers, couch potatoes, and professional treat beggars out there! 💙

We had A LOT of dogs show off for our Pints for Pets Photo Contest, so we figured today was the perfect excuse to give them all another moment in the spotlight.

From the dogs who knew exactly how to work the camera to the ones whose humans probably took approximately 147 photos to get the winning shot, we loved seeing every single one of them.

Happy National Dog Day to these handsome, beautiful, ridiculous pups and every dog who makes life a little better just by being in it!

A big THANK YOU to our friends at Maumee Bay Brewing Company for helping make Pints for Pets possible! 💙

Not only are they brewing this year's special-edition Pints for Pets beer featuring our winning pup, Barley, they're also hosting us for our Beer Release Pawty this October!

We can't wait to raise a glass, celebrate Barley, and celebrate all the pets and people who helped make this year's Pints for Pets Photo Contest such a success.

It’s official: BARLEY is your 2026 Pints for Pets Photo Contest winner!

After an incredible race that came right down to the final minutes, Barley took the top spot and will become the face of this year’s specially brewed Pints for Pets beer from Maumee Bay Brewing Company!

Barley will receive the full celebrity treatment, including a professional photoshoot with Trumbull Photography, LLC, his face on the beer label and billboards around town, a custom caricature and t-shirt, and, of course, a place of honor at our Pints for Pets Beer Release Pawty on Saturday, October 17th.

A huge congratulations also goes to Jane the Dane, who finished in second, and Boo, who proudly represented Team Cat in third! The competition was fierce, the campaigning was impressive, and watching you all rally behind your favorite pets made this one of our favorite contests yet.

Most importantly, every vote cast was a donation to Humane Ohio. Whether you voted for Barley, Jane, Boo, or one of the many other amazing pets in this year’s contest, you helped support affordable spay/neuter services for pets and community cats throughout our community.

Thank you to every pet who entered, every person who voted and shared, and everyone who made this year’s contest so much fun.

Congratulations, Barley! Toledo, get ready to see a whole lot more of this face.
