Oenothera gaura🌸

Commonly named beeblossom, this native prairie plant is a biennial that takes two years to complete its life cycle.

In year one, the plants grow as a short, rosette of leaves very close to the ground. In the second year, plants can grow over six feet tall and bloom from late June through Sept.

To ensure you have flowers every year, plant beeblossom for two consecutive years and allow plants to reseed.

Beeblossom is adaptable to many soil conditions, and performs best in prairie-type landscapes where it is free to reseed without becoming weedy.
