Osiris was back in class today and ready to show off his skills!

While in class this beautiful boy worked on his sit, lay down, find me, leave it, spinning in each direction, and last but not least he practiced his "under arrest" pose. Osiris took a few much needed breaks for head scratches as this gentleman worked very hard today!

Meet Osiris! He is a show stopper in his black and white tux. This smart man will do just about anything for a good treat. During training sessions with staff and volunteers he has responded very well to a clicker and is very treat motivated. He walks like a true gentlemen when he is on a harness. This man hasn't meet a toy he doesn't like. Osiris is a higher energy man and would need to meet any future human siblings.

He has been at Lucas County since November 9, 2022

This handsome hunk Uno was also at class on Monday!

At an estimated 5 year old this beefcake is quite the entertainer! He will do ANYTHING for a snack and was voted best snorts!

During class he worked on his sit, learned lay down, rode a skateboard, and barreled through a little course! He took plenty of breaks for attention as we could not get enough of this sweet little ham 💜

There are currently no staff notes but he has been at LC4 since December 22, 2022!

This fabulous little lad Bertram enjoyed his night out of the shelter Monday!

Bertram is roughly a 2.5 year old happy mixed breed!

In class he worked on his sit, learned lay down, found the perfect toy, and sprinted his way through a small obstacle course!

While he did learn a lot his favorite part of class seemed to be the cheese and all the attention he got!

Bertram attended Rescue University for the first time yesterday! He did great! This handsome guy is smart, loving, and confident. He’ll make a fun addition to a lucky family!

Frosty had a fun-filled day! First up was training at Canine Karma, and then it was off Maumee Bay Brewing Company for more fun at an adoption event! This 10 month old cutie pie loved every second! Read below to see what his friend, Doug, said about their day 🥰:

"Today was class #2 of Rescue University for Frosty at Canine Karma I am so proud of this pup.

Frosty has lots of energy. A shelter can be tough for a young dog with lots of energy.

With Frosty, it was evident that it had been two weeks between classes. It took us time getting back to our prior progress. We worked on loose leash, sit, sit on a stand, sit in a box, and low hurdles. Mostly we worked on focusing his energy in a positive manner. By the end of the session, he was back.

After class, we did a mini DOTT by visiting MBBC Marketplace, where Lucas County Canine Care & Control had dogs for adoption. Frosty interacted very well with lots of people, kids, and other dogs. He had a blast. We then went for an hour walk along the river. He was near perfect with loose leash walking. We stopped at a couple benches, he cuddled for butt rubs and was so appreciative of the day.

This puppy has lots of energy. He would quickly become a BFF in an active family that likes to play fetch, go for long walks or runs, and help him use his puppy energy in a positive manner. I see so much potential and am so proud of Frosty. We had a great day!

Lastly, Rescue University through Canine Karma and Friends of Lucas County Dogs is a wonderful program and perfect for dogs like Frosty. I highly encourage other volunteers to give it a try."

Bambi and Parcheesi recently went to "school" at Zoom Room Dog Training! They did well and had such a blast! These wonderful boys are both still searching for loving homes! Visit them at LC4 to meet them!

We are so proud of Ruby and her family!!

Her family adopted this sweet girl, who was attending RU at Canine Karma, and decided to take Tina and her team up their offer to continue Ruby’s training for free! This offer is available to all dogs that attend RU with Canine Karma; you can choose to enroll in their STAR program, or get 2 private training sessions at no cost! ❤️🐾
