Bo is one of our seniors we recently were able to help from the shelter. He was an owner surrendered dog as his people were moving and unable to take him along.
He is around 10 yrs old and 8 lbs.
He received a dental cleaning and 4 extractions today, blood work was also done as well as X-rays. He has arthritis in his back which causes him to move funny. Don’t worry. This boy can still chase horses and deer! He loves to go out for walks and check everything out. He is also a big fan of sleeping on the back of the couch and has no issues at this point jumping up and down. He also has general allergies and is on monthly cytopoint injections.
He is located in Warrenton, Virginia and his adoption fee is $300.
He is dog friendly, rides well in car, great on a leash, housebroken and a loving and loyal friend.
If you think Bo could be a good fit for you send in an application.

Happy Adoption Day Maeve 🥰

Do you ever feel like something is staring at you?
Adopt Eve and it won’t be a feeling! Something really will be staring at you!
Eve is a 2 yr old 20 lbs doxie/corgi mix. She is an “old soul” type and while being a pet is new to her she is absolutely loving having a human to follow around all day.
This is a chill girl who would love a home with someone who works from home or is retired. While she has always been around other dogs we think she could adjust easily to being an only dog with lots of human companionship.
Currently she is working on her potty training and she spends the nights in the laundry room. She does cry for a few minutes after being put away but settles quickly and is quiet all night. She is also pretty reliable now on her potty manners.
She walks well on a leash and will continue to work on exploring more urban areas as her vaccinations are finished.
She could potentially go on a foster to adopt in May as she waits for her spay appointment but that would need to be within an hour of Warrenton, Virginia.
We are accepting applications for her and as always our dogs are placed on best fit not in order of application received.
HMR alumni Chase is hanging out on the farm over the weekend.
Chase is a great example of adopters who reached out as soon as they had questions/concerns and we were able to send in MDOG K9 Training and have them assist and now Chase has a loving home and his adopters a loyal and well mannered dog.

Dexter is ready to hop along to your home and be your best friend.
Currently fostering in Danville VA
Who out there is looking for a good ol’ classic DOG. You know, the kind your grandparents had when you were a kid. The kind of dog that wags its tail at everyone, loves to ride in the truck, swim in the pond and go for walks.
The kind of dog that’s up for anything at anytime but can chill when needed.
The classic Heinz 57 breed of this and that and it’s all good.
Julia is that kind of dog. She is around a year old 45 lbs and ready for a home. She is a fast learner and will catch on to new routines quickly. She crates well and is good out in a kennel when needed.
She could do well as an only dog or with a playmate but we wouldn’t recommend her for homes with older dogs or cats as she does enjoy playing with friends.
She is located in Warrenton Virginia but can be adopted to most anywhere with transportation.
for more pics.
Reevah went to town this morning with her foster mom. Got to check out the train and LOVE sculpture. Went to the farmers market and found some hot cross buns and cookies. Met lots of nice people and saw lots of other dogs.
This beautiful girl would love a home soon. She is 4-5 yrs old and around 55 lbs. she is fully vetted and ready to adopt.
She will do best as an only dog, while she is calm around dogs out in public she can be possessive about her human and we feel to avoid conflict in a home she should be an only dog.
She will be starting obedience classes next week and continue her work on being the bestest doggie ever.
For adopters near Warrenton the obedience classes can transfer with her.
It’s a Good Friday to be a dog. Warm day in VA so some fosters and alumni enjoying the pond.

Currently fostering In New Orleans .
From his fosters:
Day 2 with this beautiful angel. Sam is such a sweetheart. He is not sure about this being in a house thing. He’s afraid of the ceramic tile floor so we’ve accommodated him with carpet pieces and beach towels so he can navigate. He totally ignores the cat and avoids King. He just wants a place to lay his head and get some pets. He gives kisses in return. He’s recovering from his neuter and we are waiting on the biopsy from his testicular tumor. His next big hurdle will be going through heart worm treatment. Once that is done, he will be looking for his forever home. He’s a low maintenance kinda guy.

Anyone looking for a beautiful and special boy!
Meet Falcon!!
Falcon came in as a stray in February 2025. We were able to track down his previous owner through a microchip, but it turns out he was rehomed to an unknown person.
Since being in our shelter we have learned that Falcon is a very smart boy who knows some commands and is very housebroken! Falcon has the more spectacular bat ears, but they’re not for sonic hearing! No, in fact Falcon is deaf!! He has no idea and goes about his life just as any other dog, although he does seem to get better sleep than most!
* Didi you know that dogs who are all white are more likely to be deaf! Deaf dogs are just as capable to learn as any other dog through hand signals, just like people!!
Falcon loves everyone he meets, including other animals! Falcon is believed to be around 5 years old. He still acts like a young adult and is ready for zoomies in the play yard! He loves to play with stuffed animals and get loving from people! Falcon absolutely would love to be in a home with another dog to play with!! Falcon is neutered and up to date on vaccinations!!
Cone and meet Falcon!
Falcon’s adoption fee is $60 until Saturday, April 19!!

We were able to get a back story regarding our newest foster member of Hail Mary Rescue ,Sam Kane.
“Found at 117 Emile Verret Rd, New Iberia on April 7th, he was eating from a dumpster at a nearby gas station and sleeping on the back porch of the office then the office ladies started feeding him”
Sam Kane never once showed aggression. He was literally shut down by fear. No more worries for him now. He’s currently enroute to New Orleans where he will board with our Sec/Tres Rhonda G and Martha S 🥰
