Dear Friends and Valued Clients,
After much thought and reflection, I am writing to share an important announcement. After 22 years of practicing veterinary medicine and caring for the pets and families of this community, I have made the decision to retire. As a result, Acadian Animal Hospital will be closing permanently on July 31, 2026. This is a bittersweet moment for me. Veterinary medicine has been far more than a career—it has been a calling and a privilege. For over 20 years, you have trusted me with your companions’ health, comfort, and care. I have shared in the joy of welcoming new puppies and kittens, the relief of helping pets recover from illness or injury, and the difficult but meaningful moments of saying goodbye when the time came.
I want you to know how grateful I am for the trust you have placed in me. Many of you started as clients and became friends. I have had the unique honor of watching families grow, caring for multiple generations of pets, and being welcomed into your lives during some of your happiest and most difficult moments. Those relationships are the greatest reward of this profession, and I will carry them with me into retirement.
Over the next month, I will continue to be available to help with your pets’ immediate needs and to make this transition as smooth as possible. If your pet requires ongoing medications, medical records, or transfer of care to another veterinarian, please contact the office before our closing date so we can assist you.
Important dates and information:
• Last day seeing patients: July 31, 2026
• Final day of business: July 31, 2026
• Medical records: Copies of your pet’s records can be requested by emailing our office at [email protected]. Records can also be transferred directly to your new veterinarian upon request.
• Prescription medications: Please contact us early for any needed refills or medication planning before closure.
While this chapter is ending, I hope you know how deeply appreciative I am for the opportunity to have cared for your pets. Every patient had a story, and every family left an impression. The paw prints, memories, and friendships created here have made this journey incredibly meaningful.
