🐾 WELCOME HOME, MAVERICK! 🐾

After several days on the run, Maverick is finally safe and back where he belongs — with his loving family. ❤️

A few sightings came in this morning, and with patience, teamwork, and the right approach, everything came together perfectly. Maverick’s grandmother went to the area where he had been seen and brought along her dog. They quietly sat down in a yard near the sightings and waited.

Slowly, Maverick emerged from the woods.

As he caught his grandmother’s scent, he cautiously approached. Then, in a moment that none of us will forget, he walked over and jumped right into her lap. 🥹❤️

A special thank you to CT Dog Gone Recovery Volunteer Debbie, who provided the family with excellent guidance on calming signals and the importance of remaining quiet, patient, and non-threatening. She emphasized dropping to the ground, staying calm, and allowing Maverick to make the choice to approach. The family listened, trusted the process, and it worked beautifully.

This successful recovery was truly a community effort.

🐾 Thank you to Maverick’s family, who followed every piece of advice given and remained committed throughout the search.

🐾 Thank you to Brian for bringing out his drone and searching the area. This time of year presents unique challenges with heavy tree canopy cover, but he was able to thoroughly search the open tree farm areas.

🐾 Thank you to Mike and Aubrey for spending hours hiking and tracking. Aubrey certainly kept her nose to the ground and worked hard throughout the search.

Every share, every sighting report, every volunteer, and every supporter played a part in bringing Maverick home.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped and thrilled that this wonderful boy is safely back with the family who loves him.

This girl went missing while on a hike at the Whitecliffe trails. She’s wearing an E-Collar.

UPDATE! Chrissy was safely trapped! She came to a Terryville goat farm with the duty to watch over the goats. It was her first day on the job and she was a little confused with her new surroundings and escaped the fence. While on the lamb she was made a big circle around the area and through her new yard. For hours her new family tried to lure her to them and she would have none of it. Our large trap was set up next to the goat barn by CTDGRV Carol. CTDGRV Lisa volunteered to watch the cameras and called when she went int the trap.. Her adventure is over and her fence will be fixed. Thank you for those who reported with sightings and others who cared and shared. Have a great life Chrissy. Your new family is overjoyed you are home and safe

Missing in Terryville. She loves animals but is leary of humans. She is staying in the area where she went missing. We do not want to push her out of the area. We are setting up a trap and plan to bring in her previous owner with a dog bonded to this dog tomorrow . Please just call the owner with sightings if you see her.
