Finding Your Rhythm: Neurodivergent Coaching at Horse Herd Harmony
The arena isn't just a place to learn to ride—it’s a sensory-rich environment where communication happens through more than just words. At Horse Herd Harmony, we believe that the connection between horse and human offers a unique, grounding space for neurodivergent individuals to thrive.
Why the Herd?
Horses are masters of non-verbal communication and authentic feedback. For those navigating the world with autism or other neurodivergent traits, the stable provides:
Sensory Regulation: The rhythm of a horse’s gait and the tactile experience of grooming can help ground the nervous system.
Clear Boundaries: Horses respond to honest energy and clear physical cues, making social interactions feel more logical and less overwhelming.
A Pressure-Free Zone: In the barn, there is no "right" way to be. We focus on the "Ground-Up" approach—building a relationship through grooming and leading before ever stepping into the stirrups.
Our Approach
Our coaching sessions are designed to meet you where you are. We focus on:
Relationship-Based Training: Building mutual trust between student and horse.
Executive Functioning Support: Using tasks like tacking up or following a "Squire's Folder" to build confidence in sequencing and planning.
Emotional Safety: A supportive environment where "precious moments" (even the tough ones) are met with empathy and patience.
Join Us This April
In honor of Autism Awareness Month, we invite you to discover how the harmony of the herd can support personal growth, confidence, and connection.
"In the rhythm of the horse, we find our own beat."

Saddle up this Summer and join our Equine Assisted Horsemanship Learning Lab designed to sharpen the mind and strengthen the body.
Students dive into a multi-disciplinary st standard aligned curriculum where school subjects come to life:
The Physics of Movement: Explore the biomechanics and center of gravity involved in horse and rider movement. We’ll study how balance and force shift during mounted work!
Physical Literacy & Yoga: We’re taking "core strength" to a new level. Students will practice equine-inspired yoga to master their balance, strengthen their core, and improve flexibility—essential skills for a stable seat in the saddle.
Tack & Ag Tech: Understand the engineering behind tack technology and the mechanics of agricultural tools like the drag.
Barnyard Bio & Ecology: Master equine biology and the local ecosystem of the farm.
Equine Math: Put math into motion using "The Feed Calculator" to manage nutrition and portions.
Literacy & Comprehension: Build vocabulary and logic skills through equine facts and record-keeping in the "Squire’s Folder."
By combining mindfulness and movement with hard science, we help students master both handling and mounted work while sharpening their minds.
