Established in 1974, SafeHaven Humane Society is a non-profit, privately funded, limited admission shelter, that does not use euthanasia for population control. Mission Statement

We help our communities' residents be the best "humane" beings they can be by providing: Compassionate temporary shelter care; healthy adoptable animals; information, understanding and education; spay and neuter programs

SafeHaven Humane Society is a privately funded non-profit that receives no government funding. Support from the community and donations from people like you help to keep our doors open to the over 2,500 animals that we take in and adopt out each year. Programs Offered

SafeHaven offers, but is not limited to, the following programs: Dog and cat adoptions, Humane Education, Cats Count (a low cost spay/neuter program for cats available to qualifying Linn County residents), volunteer opportunities and Behavioral Training classes. Meet Bailey

Bailey is the sweetest boy with the biggest heart. He came to us after his owner could no longer care for him, and all he wants now is a family to love him forever.

This handsome guy adores people and is wonderful with kids, dogs, and even cats. Bailey is more of a gentle soul than a wild player, but offer him a treat and he'll happily show off his tricks for you! He loves splashing around in water, going on walks, and soaking up all the attention he can get.

Bailey does have some skin allergies, so he'll need a little extra care to help keep him comfortable. His legs and belly can be sensitive, and nail trims aren't exactly his favorite spa day activity. He also prefers to enjoy his meals without other animals nearby.

What Bailey lacks in perfect skin, he makes up for with endless love, sweet eyes, and a heart full of loyalty. He's the kind of dog that just wants to be close to his people and make them smile.

Bailey is ready to find a patient, loving home that will give him the happy ending he deserves. Could that be with you?

Hello, friends! My name is Beatrice Louise, and I'm a sweet, loving girl with a heart full of affection and a tail that never stops wagging. I'm on the hunt for my forever family, and I can't wait to meet them!

I'm a well-rounded pup who's lived with both cats and large dogs, and I've spent time around children too. Because of my gentle nature, I do best with calm, friendly dog companions who enjoy taking life at a relaxed pace.

A few of my favorite things:

Making new friends and spending time with my people

Mealtime and treats-seriously, I never say no to a tasty snack!

Playing fetch and showing off my toy-chasing skills

A fun game of tug-of-war with my favorite humans

Going on Doggy Day Out adventures! I love exploring new places, taking in the sights and smells, and making memories wherever I go.

When playtime is over, I'm happiest soaking up attention, sharing cuddles, and simply being part of the family. I have a loving personality, an easygoing spirit, and so much affection to give.

Nearly all of these babies have been too young for adoption and needed foster homes while they grow. With our mild winter and spring, Kitten Season is already in full swing and it’s only getting busier.

SafeHaven Humane Society will be closed on Memorial Day as we take time to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Our staff will still be caring for the animals throughout the day to ensure everyone is safe, comfortable, and loved.

We will resume normal business hours tomorrow.

Kitten Season is in full swing and we are officially caring for nearly 200 animals in foster care — and it’s only May!

With so many babies coming in, we could really use help keeping our foster families supplied. Right now we are especially low on:

Join us this Saturday, May 23rd, from 9am-12pm for our May Family Volunteer Day session!
This is a great opportunity for children to learn how they can make an impact and treat animals kindly, and the work that goes into these mornings helps hundreds of animals in need! Talk about fulfilling bonding time!

For Family Volunteer Days, we begin with a task at the shelter that will benefit the staff and animals. Sometimes we are packaging food for our supplemental food programs, washing the SafeHaven vans, or assisting with deep cleaning projects on the animal floors. Then, we get some good animal cuddle time in for all the hard work!
