Leave the vets office and your expensive 1000lb liability just for a moment and pretend you're snorkeling in tropical waters instead😂😂

Is your horse due for a dental?
On average, we recommend horses get a dental float done once a year. This gives us the ability to manage any sharp points or abnormalities before they can cause problems. When performing a dental, our veterinarian's goal is to keep a proper grinding surface on the tooth but grind down sharp points that form on the edge of the arcades of teeth. When sharp points or abnormalities are left to their own devices, it can cause pain, wounds, or even other symptoms such as your horse having trouble eating or not wanting to eat at all.
In addition, regular and proper dental care can increase the longevity of the teeth. Being able to monitor your horse's mouth throughout their lives can set them up better for their geriatric years, when their teeth inevitably wear to the point they will need grain mash supplementation.

If you think your horse may be due for a dental, give our office a call at541-207-8308 and we will get you on our books! 🌸🌼

TUESDAY TIDBITS: EQUINE DENTAL HEALTH 🦷

Equine dental health is not only crucial for keeping your equine companion's pearly whites healthy but also for the overall health of the animal in general.

Common dental issues such as the ones mentioned in the graphic can negatively affect the health of the teeth themselves as well as gum, gastrointestinal, and overall mouth health. Dental issues can also impact chewing and food grinding, further exacerbating digestive tract issues.

Has your horse struggled with any of these dental issues before? Let us know below ⬇️

As always, if you have questions or concerns about your horse's dental health, contact your equine veterinarian.

You know what they say... two is better than one. Well, how about three?

Something we place a large importance on in our clinic is teamwork! Not only do our veterinarians get along swimmingly, but they also have great communication regarding cases and their patients! This helps ensure that our patients are truly receiving the best care!
