Our favorite Channel II show last weekend didn't disappoint, despite the weather ☔️🌧️.

Allie and Roo took Reserve Champion in the Children's Hunter with an undersaddle win!

Tori and Heiress VDL win the 1m Jr/Am power and speed class and take 4th in the jump off.

We love these B shows and are so glad to have so many close by!

There’s something incredibly valuable about letting performance horses step outside the arena and just be horses.

For competitive ones, trail riding and exposure outside the ring play such an important role in creating confident, level-headed athletes. Learning to navigate hills, water, wildlife, tractors, dogs, changing footing, and all the everyday sights and sounds helps build trust, relaxation, and mental resilience that simply can’t be replicated between four arena "walls".

Some of the best rides happen when there’s no pressure...Horses that regularly get out and experience the world around them often come back to work more relaxed, more rideable, and mentally healthier overall.

Having access to beautiful trails and open areas that allow our horses this balance is such a blessing. Developing competition horses is important, but a big piece of that is protecting their minds and keeping them happy in the process.

A little something new happening around the farm...

We are welcoming a beautifully bred Quarter Horse mare and her filly, and with them, the start of a small side program we’ve talked about for years.

My husband grew up in the rodeo world, starting colts and riding young horses long before life got busy with full-time jobs and responsibilities. This has always been something he’s wanted to get back to, and we’re finally in a place to make it happen.

We’ll be slowly building a small Quarter Horse breeding program focused on good-minded, amateur-friendly horses with gorgeous color.

This will stay a smaller, passion-driven part of our business alongside the hunter/jumper part, but we’re excited to share the journey as it grows 🧡

More updates (and baby pictures, obviously) coming soon.

Get to know the 2026 Board ⭐️

Remy grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, where she discovered her love for horses at a young age and quickly found her home in the GHJA community. She spent her early years competing locally before riding on her college IHSA team, experiences that shaped not only her riding, but her values in the sport.

After college, Remy made the decision to fully commit to pursuing her goals and continuing her education as a professional. She spent years working in every corner of the equestrian world, building a deep, hands-on understanding of what it takes to run strong, ethical, and successful programs. She went on to manage and teach at some of the largest facilities in the area, helping students grow from their very first ride to their first rated horse shows.

In 2022, Remy founded Bayside Equestrian with the goal of creating a program rooted in correct horsemanship, education, and respect for the horse. She is deeply passionate about developing thoughtful, confident riders who understand that true success in this sport starts with the care, partnership, and well-being of their equine partners, both in and out of the saddle. She is excited to begin her first year serving on the GHJA Board and looks forward to contributing her energy and perspective while upholding the organization’s core values and supporting its continued growth.
