🎣 Looking for the owner! 🎣

I’ve had a Palomino Trout, completed, the shop for a little over 2 years now. It was dropped off on behalf of a youth, and the contact I have is “George Wilson,” but the phone number I was given doesn’t seem to match up.

If this sounds familiar, or you know someone missing a fish, please reach out! I’d love to see this trout make its way back home.

If I don’t hear from anyone, I’ll be looking to let it go at the end of the year.

A custom lifesize fisher completed here at Creekside Taxidermy!

There aren’t many premade forms available for fishers, so most of the time you have to build your own. For this piece, the customer requested an open-mouth mount as well, which added even more time and detail to the project. Definitely a fun one to bring to life!

This post may be a little late, but after a hectic weekend of getting mounts out, working my full-time job, and unpacking from the show, it’s been overwhelming!

The Elk Expo was an amazing experience and a great show. It was our first time there, and we already plan to attend again next year. I brought my personal elk to mount, but with the less than ideal weather, I wasn’t able to do much mounting.

I was able to connect with so many people to talk taxidermy, answer questions about the trade, meet other local taxidermists, and even host a seminar on elk taxidermy to showcase the craft, which many people don’t get the opportunity to see.

Exciting News!!
Creekside will be a vendor at the Elk Expo in Benezette this Saturday and Sunday. This will be our first time attending, and we’re looking forward to a great turnout since the event from what we have been told is always well attended.

I’ll be mounting my personal elk at the show which is my first elk ever I took last rifle season in Colorado. This will be the first personal piece I’ve ever fully finished since starting taxidermy nearly five years ago. Big milestone - woo hoo!

We’re also unveiling a new side of Creekside Taxidermy that we’ve kept under wraps for a while now. We’ll be displaying and promoting this exciting new addition at the event.

A while back I shared photos of this massive Pennsylvania bobcat, tipping the scales at 42 lbs, it’s truly a once in a lifetime trophy.

To do it justice, I used the largest form available that matched the customer’s preferred pose, then added even more girth to every limb, the body, and extended the length. The bulky head also took various alterations to fill the large skin.

One of the wildest features? This cat had a healed injury to its lip, exposing both upper and lower canines. The upper canine was even chipped. The customer asked me to replicate that detail, and I made sure to bring it to life just as it was in the field.
