🗓 2025-2026 hunting licenses go on sale June 23rd!
That means it’s time to gear up — and secure your spot in line for an antlerless deer tag.

🦌 Antlerless (Doe) License Timeline – 2025:
• Round 1 – June 23: Residents only
✅ ALL resident hunters are GUARANTEED an antlerless license in any WMU during this round — if purchased before July 14.
• Round 2 – July 28: Residents & nonresidents
• Round 3 – August 11
• Round 4 – August 25

🔔 Licenses can be purchased online or at an authorized issuing agent.

🦃 Jake vs. Tom: Know the Difference 🦃
Whether it’s your first turkey or your fiftieth, knowing what you’ve got over your shoulder makes the story even better. Here’s how to tell if your bird is a mature tom or a young jake:

SPURS:
• Toms often have long, sharp spurs (1” or longer), sometimes even curved with age.
• Jakes have small, rounded nubs — usually under ½ inch.

TAIL FAN:
• Toms show a perfectly even tail fan when strutting — all feathers the same length.
• Jakes have a center “step up” where the middle feathers are longer than the outer ones.
