Due to changes in FedEx shipping services, there is no longer an overnight shipping option for Coggins samples.
Effective immediately, Coggins samples will be shipped via 2-day service or 4-day service, which may result in a longer turnaround time for test results.

If your horse needs a Coggins for travel, events, sales, or other requirements, we strongly encourage scheduling your appointment well in advance to ensure your paperwork is ready when you need it.

Treating Equine Anhidrosis with Acupuncture

Acupuncture is emerging as a promising complementary therapy for horses with equine anhidrosis, helping some affected horses regain their ability to sweat and better regulate body temperature. By restoring this essential cooling mechanism, acupuncture may improve comfort, support athletic performance, and reduce the risk of heat-related illness. Equine anhidrosis, commonly known as "non-sweating," is a serious condition that prevents horses from producing enough sweat to effectively cool themselves. This is particularly challenging in hot, humid climates such as the southeastern United States and Texas, where summer temperatures can exceed 110°F. Because horses rely on the evaporation of sweat to dissipate approximately 65–70% of their body heat, anhidrosis can lead to dangerously elevated body temperatures, heat stress, and, in severe cases, life-threatening hyperthermia. For many horses, therapies such as acupuncture offer hope for improving thermoregulation and maintaining health during the hottest months of the year.

Horses love crunchy, sweet foods like apples, carrots, and watermelon, which are often considered equine staples. Many horses also go absolutely crazy for peppermint candies, bananas, and commercial treats, though you should always feed them in moderation and cut larger produce into safe, chewable slices to prevent choking.

Top Horse Favorite Treats!!!
Fruits & Melons: Apples (cut into slices without seeds), bananas, watermelon (rind and all), and pitted stone fruits like mangoes and peaches.
Vegetables: Carrots, celery, and pumpkins (skin is fine, but remove the seeds).
