Formerly underweight, she’s currently 38 #, full of confidence, and deserves a loving, safe environment to enjoy her golden years. Charlotte is heartworm positive but is receiving treatment and is in good spirits. Any additional medical needs can be discussed at the request of the potential adopter. She has a gentle temperament, walks well on a harness, and gets along well with our clinic cat. A really cute POMERANIAN puppy for FUN FACT FRIDAY!
-Pomeranian's originated from the province of Pomerania, a region of Northern Europe.
-Queen Victoria of England is responsible for the small size of these dogs today. She brought one home from Florence, Italy and went to work breeding them to become a little lapdog.
-They typically stand about 7-12 inches tall and can weigh between 3-7 pounds. Some of the larger breed Poms can weigh up to 14 pounds.
-Despite their small size, they are closely related to Spitz breeds like Alaskan Malamutes, and are known for their thick double coats.
-2 Pomeranians were among the few dogs that survived the sinking of the Titanic.
-Notable figures that had Poms: Queen Victoria, Michelangelo, Mozart, and Isaac Newton.
-They can make good therapy dogs. They can also be trained as hearing assistance dogs.
-Have a fearless attitude, despite their smaller size 😀
