🌞🐾 Heat Safety for Pets: Did You Know? 🐾🌞
As temperatures rise, our furry friends can be at risk for heat-related illnesses. Here are a few important facts:
🐶 Dogs cool themselves primarily by panting, but when temperatures get too high, panting may not be enough to prevent overheating.
🐱 Cats are masters at finding cool places, but they can still suffer from heat stress and dehydration, especially if they spend time outdoors.
🔥 Hot pavement can burn paws! If the ground is too hot for your hand to comfortably touch for 7 seconds, it's too hot for your pet's feet.
💧 Fresh water is essential. Pets should always have access to clean, cool water, especially during hot weather.
🚗 Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle. Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside a car can become dangerous within minutes.
