🔥 Hot Pavement = Burned Paws! 🐾

Even when the air temperature feels comfortable, pavement can get much hotter in the summer sun, hot enough to cause painful burns to your pet’s paw pads.

Before heading out for a walk, try the 7-second test:
✋ Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds.
If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws!

☀️ Walk during the cooler morning or evening hours
🌱 Choose grass or shaded areas when possible
🐾 Watch for limping, licking the paws, or reluctance to walk
💧 And don’t forget the water!

Summer isn’t over yet, keep those paws protected! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our Pet Video Contest! 🐾❤️
We received more than 40 amazing submissions featuring dogs, cats, and even horses showing off their unique talents. We loved every single one and are so grateful to everyone who submitted a video or voted for their favorites!

🥇 1st Place *most likes* ($150 Hospital Credit): Nala Dufault, a Siberian cat who won hearts by riding around the house in a basket.

🥈 2nd Place *staff pick* (Pet Goodie Basket): Canelo Gill-Cano for an adorable game of “keepy uppy” with a yellow balloon.

🥉 Special 3rd place Award ($50 Hospital Credit): Zeus Vedora, a Ragdoll cat with an impressive “play dead” trick.
