If your pet needs any prescription refills, PLEASE submit your request through the online pharmacy or via PetDesk ASAP to ensure you have them before the holiday! As a reminder, we need 24-48 hours to fill prescriptions.

Which Thanksgiving Pet Owner Are You? (The Holiday Planning Guide)

Thanksgiving is next week! At Small Miracles, we know your time is valuable: So we created a mini guide to a safe, low-stress holiday, based on your plans:

A. 🤫 The Safe Zone Setter: Planning a quiet, safe space for your pet away from the noise and activity?

💡Quick Tip: Utilize calming tools like pheromone sprays or diffusers in their dedicated safe room before guests arrive to proactively manage stress and anxiety.

B. 🍖 The Snack Curator: Holidays are for treats! But human food isn't always good for pets (and some foods are even dangerous!).

💡Quick Tip: Prepare safe, simple additions like plain boiled sweet potato or pumpkin ahead of time. This prevents last-minute cross-contamination with rich fats, salt, onions, and seasonings, which can cause pancreatitis. Or, stick to your favorite treats made specifically for pets: Churu and "A Better Treat" brand freeze dried treats are some of our favorites!

C. 🚗 The Road Trip Planner: Hitting the road for the long weekend?

💡Quick Tip: Be sure your travel kit includes your pet's current medication, a printed copy of their medical summary (in case of an emergency clinic visit), and a fully secured harness or travel carrier for the car.

Dogs can smell emotional changes in humans, including when we’re stressed, before they even look at us 👀

Sometimes they’ll act hesitant when you're out and about not because of the location… but because they’re reading our nerves.

Our friends at the Duffield Institute for Animal Behavior at Cornell University are conducting a study, funded by Fear Free, to better understand how dogs experience stress, fear, and anxiety during vet visits—and your voice matters.
