Meet Mimsy!!

This sweet old girl came into our care covered in severe mats. Her mats had goat heads, burs, and lots of f***s built up that were even rubbing and scratching against her skin.
It required a sedated groom to remove her mats as they were so tight around her feet, it was causing major discomfort.
Mimsy also had severe Glaucoma and Dry eye.

We questioned at first whether her eyes would need to be removed.
Thankfully, she has been responding well to eye drops and we don’t think removal of her eyes will be necessary.

While Mimsy is better off now than she was before, she is still going to require a special home that can give her the care she deserves!
She is completely blind, we think mostly deaf and is on eye drops 3 times a day!
Aside from her eye drops, Mimsy is overall in pretty good health!!

Since she can’t see well, she definitely prefers to be in the company of a person so she doesn’t feel so alone!
She loves to be held and carried around like the perfect little pocket dog!!

Mimsy is truly such a sweetheart and we know she still has several good years of life in her!
She just needs someone who is willing to take on her medical care and grooming responsibilities!!

Mimsy is about 10 years old, spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $85.

Meet Gemma!!

This pretty girl is about 3 years old. We believe she is a Boxer/ Pit mix of some kind. She currently weighs 55 pounds and is done growing. If anything she could definitely get a bit stockier!

Gemma is a sweet sweet girl who has been through a lot. She can be shy when it comes to meeting new people, especially men.
While it takes a little bit to gain Gemma’s trust, once she is comfortable with you, it is so rewarding to have her loyalty!!
She really is such a sweetheart and wants nothing but to give her person love!

Gemma loves to play fetch and chase a ball around the play yards! She would really enjoy having a yard of her own where she can play and get her exercise!! She has lived with other dogs before and seems to enjoy other dogs that have a more calm, mellow demeanor.
Due to some of her nervous habits, it would greatly benefit Gemma to have another comfortable/confident pup in her future home that can show her the ropes of what it truly means to be a dog!

Due to Gemma being nervous with quick movements and a lot of noise, we think she would do best in a home with no small children.

We know Gemma will make a great addition to the family for the right person!!

It is always so good to see our shelter animals adopted into homes that let them live their lives to the fullest!!

Good afternoon!
I adopted a precious boy named Cane. He's a pit bull mix and his name is now Rooster we call him Roosie for short! He has a brother named Leo who is 5 and they are best buds. They love playing together and their favorite activity is food puzzles! He has come so far in training and is so smart. He recently figured out he loves swimming and is a pro paddle-boarder! Rooster has gotten to try so many new things and meet new people. I am so glad that I found him through Stillwater Humane Society!!

Ember wanted to send a life update and show everyone what she’s been up to since being adopted as the Humane Society of Stillwater’s official office dog!!

Ember continues to kill all the squeaky toys she can, take long naps, steal sandwiches off of desks, oversee all adoptions and even help with the occasional filing of paperwork, plus so much more!

Her favorite activities are of course to defluff squeaky toys, but also to roll in the warm grass and go on adventures for pup cups and a change of scenery!

She continues to greet each and every individual who comes in the door!
If you come bearing bags, she will bark at you insisting you must have brought her a toy. Because this is her world we live in and every visitor is obviously there for her!
If you’re lucky, you may get to hear her toot live in action ;)

All in all, Ember is dearly loved and cherished amongst our staff, volunteers and community and even when she is being a little turd, we couldn’t imagine the office without her presence!!

She is our sweet sweet girl and we love having her just as much as she loves being here!
(Even when she steals our lunch)

Oreo has been in our care for 380 days. He has watched a total of 192 dogs and puppies get adopted before him.
He is so eager for it to be his turn with a family of his own!!

Oreo is about 2 years old. We believe he is a Labrador Retriever/ Pit mix of some kind. His body weight seems to maintain around 60 pounds and he is done growing.

Oreo is such a good boy and we know he is growing tired of our shelter. We unfortunately think he’s fallen victim to the black dog syndrome and simply gets overlooked because he has no obvious features that set him apart from the others.

Oreo is honestly not super high energy and spends a lot of time lounging around, hanging out at the shelter. He does enjoy getting out and playing a little bit, but cuddling on the couch while watching movies would be more what he’s interested in.
He is truly such a baby/cuddle bug!

Oreo has had playmates here at the shelter and would probably enjoy the company of another dog in his future home! We have no idea what he thinks about cats.

He doesn’t always realize his size and how strong he can be, so we think he would do best in a home with no small children.

We know Oreo’s perfect family awaits him somewhere and he’s patiently waiting for the day that it’s his turn to start his next journey!!

Meet Jinx, Fred, Cole, Wilma, Tubby and Lila!!

These adorable babies are about 2 months old.

These kittens are a little shy when it comes to first entering new environments and meeting new people. If you give them the time and patience to open up and come around, they instantly turn into quite the little purr machines!!

These kittens enjoy playing with one another and would probably be up for having other playmates in their future homes as long as they had a slow and proper introduction!

With know with the proper patience and TLC, these kittens will grow to make awesome companions for their future families!

Jinx, Fred, Cole and Tubby are all neutered males.
Wilma and Lila are spayed females.

Meet Mulligan!!

This cute little pup is about 5 months old. We believe he is a Labrador Retriever/ Pit mix of some kind. He currently weighs about 30 pounds and will continue to grow. We think he will likely be around 50-60 pounds once fully grown.

Mulligan is such a kind-hearted boy! He has a gentle demeanor and nothing but love in his eyes!
He is already so smart and eager to please!
Mulligan walks well on a leash and already knows how to sit.

We know with proper patience, training and consistency, he will grow up to be a good boy!!
He enjoys playing with his siblings and would probably really like to have another playmate in his future home!
We aren’t sure what he thinks about cats.

Motz came to us with his 4 other siblings and he is now the last one waiting for his forever home!!
He loved to run around and get the zoomies with his siblings!

Meet Blu!!

This adorable, fluffy boy is about 8 months old. We believe he is a Husky/Pyrenees mix. He currently weighs 68 and will continue to grow. We are anticipating Blu to be a very big boy maybe pushing upwards of 100 pounds full grown!!

Blu is a sweet, easy going guy! He is happy to be surrounded by people and feeling included in the action!
He is pretty playful and talkative! We think he would do best in a home with a big yard for him to run and play in!
He doesn’t mind our other dogs here and does try to initiate play through the fencing. We think he would greatly benefit from having another playmate in his future home!
We aren’t sure what he thinks about cats.

Blu is so smart and eager to please, we know with consistent training he will make someone an amazing boy!!
