Important read 🤌🏼
Your puppy is not a mature dog.
Stop treating them like one.
Puppies are learning how to exist in the world. Their nervous system is still developing, their impulse control is minimal, and their ability to regulate emotions is not fully online yet. That doesn’t mean they’re being stubborn, defiant, or “behind.” It means they’re a puppy doing puppy things.
Far too often I see people putting adult-level pressure on baby dogs. Expecting perfect focus, long duration obedience, or flawless behavior in environments they’re not ready for yet. Growth takes time. Confidence is built through repetition, safety, and clear guidance….not pressure.
Train the dog in front of you.
Be patient with the process.
Progress over perfection.
If we give puppies the space to mature while still providing structure, they grow into dogs that actually want to work with us. You’re not failing your puppy by slowing down..you’re setting them up for a lifetime of success. You’ve got this.
