Earlier this month was National Black Dog Day and we wanted to give an update on our favorite Black Dog, 🖤Jake🖤, as he is enjoying his retirement.

Jake will still come by CSC for a visit every now an again but having served thousands of children, he definitely has earned his retirement to just be a dog.

He still loves and enjoys getting tons of naps, pets, and special attention. His new daily routine includes waiting on his "dad" to come home from work each and every afternoon. This boy LOVES a schedule.

We miss this "good boy" but love that he is enjoying his well deserved time off.

Happy National Cat Day to the unsung MVPs of puppy raising!

Everyone knows it takes a village to raise a future service dog. But around Duo Dogs, we know the real work is being done by the cats.

These feline supervisors are out here teaching our dogs in training some of life’s most important lessons: patience, boundaries, impulse control, and the art of being thoroughly ignored. All while maintaining their regularly scheduled naps and reminding everyone who REALLY runs the household.

To the cats sharing their homes with our Volunteer Puppy Raisers and future service dogs, thank you for your unpaid service, your unwavering standards, and your willingness to put up with a puppy who has absolutely no concept of personal space. We couldn't do it without you.

Drop a 🐱 in the comments to thank these unsung heroes of the service dog world!
