🎉 We’re celebrating Maisy’s recent Gotcha Day! 💕

Formerly known as Amelia Thermopolis, Maisy is doing wonderfully in her forever home — and her family says she is a VERY loved member of the family. 🥰

This cuddly, sassy tortie is living her best life, spending her days playing with her favorite toy: an empty Amazon box. 📦

Sounds like Maisy is exactly what her family hoped for...and we couldn’t be happier for this sweet girl!

Sweet Wiley's story is one of resilience 💓

Wiley came to us from our Washington County rescue in May. He was young, scared and had no idea how to be a dog. Over the past 3 months he's been with us, he's spent countless hours with our behavior team and volunteers, learning what it's like to be loved. He's figured out how to play and has become incredibly sweet and curious about the world around him.

Wiley is 7 months old and ready to start his forever. Is it with you? 🤩

Two kittens are recovering at HSMO after a Good Samaritan witnessed a duffel bag being thrown from the window of a moving vehicle on Manchester Road and stopped to investigate. When the woman opened the discarded bag, she found two 5-month-old kittens inside, both covered in what appeared to be bleach 💔

She immediately brought the kittens to our headquarters, where we began emergency care. The kittens were thoroughly washed to remove the chemical from their fur and skin and carefully examined for wounds and potential damage to their skin, eyes and ears.

Both kittens are recovering and are in stable condition 💓🐈

This turned into a Forever Friday!! 💞

Feather came to us at the end of June. When she arrived, she was underweight, matted, and in need of a dental. Our team gave her plenty of time to heal, get stronger, and get ready for adoption.

By the time she was ready, our whole team had fallen in love with this beautiful girl! So one of our amazing volunteers took Feather on a field trip to celebrate being ready to find her forever home. They stopped at Zoomies Pet Cafe STL for a delicious pup cup before heading to Tower Grove Park for a walk. 🌳🐾

And then… Feather met her forever family. 🥹

While walking through the park, Feather happened to meet a family who had been thinking about adding a second dog. She had actually seen Feather online—and suddenly, there she was!

And get this: just ONE HOUR later, when our shelter opened, Feather’s new mom was there to take her home!

A field trip, a pup cup, a walk in the park, and a forever family—all in one day. ❤️

Happy forever, Feather! 🐾

We’re teaming up with Yoga with Charity LLC for a morning of yoga, puppy cuddles, and giving back! 💞

Join us Saturday, October 17 from 9–10 AM at the shelter for puppy yoga! You’ll get to practice your poses alongside some adorable four-legged friends, all while supporting an incredible cause. 🐾

From a car engine to a forever home! 🚒🐱❤️

This we're celebrating Firetruck!

When this tiny kitten was found hiding inside a car’s engine, a firefighter came to his rescue. We named him Firetruck, and thankfully, this little guy’s story has a very happy ending — he’s now happy, healthy, and forever home! 🥰

Firetruck’s story is also a reminder of how important it is for first responders to know when pets may be inside during an emergency. Here at HSMO, we're celebrating our love for dogs today and every day!

Just look at Sally now! 🥹💕

When Sally came to us as a stray last September, she was in rough shape. She was suffering from demodectic mange and had lost much of her coat.

Our team got to work caring for Sally and helping her get healthy again. As she recovered, her beautiful coat began to grow back, and Sally was ready to find a family of her own.

After spending some time waiting for the right family, Sally finally got her happy ending and went home in January! And just look at her now — happy, healthy, and with a beautiful full coat. 🥰

Sally’s story is a wonderful reminder of what your support can make possible. Your donations help provide animals like Sally with the medical care, treatment, shelter, and love they need to heal and find their families.
