What an EVENTFUL week we have had!
****ITS STORY TIME!!!!****
Sorry for going MIA for a few days, but we have had a wild ride, and honestly, it took a few days to process it and recover.
So! Here is the story! I will likely do some more to specifically highlight some of the events, later on.
On Tuesday 7/28, I was woken by our sweet doggies and Ryan delivering coffee to me and a kiss goodbye before he headed to work. He had hardly closed the back door before I noticed Holly's demeanor and body. Without even lifting my head off the pillow I reached for her back end and to my astonishment and surprise, there was a sac partially out of her!!!! 😳😳😳😳😳
Talk about a WAKE UP CALL!!!!!!
So we rushed downstairs while I was trying to call Ryan to get back and help me, and called Heidi Mott to wake up and get over to our house cuz we have babies on the way, actively!!!! 😍😍😍😍

I had virtually everything prepared for Holly to do this with the exception of laying down disposable puppy pads in layers to strip away as puppy's are born. (It's quite a messy business having so many babies!)
So we started of the litter with her biggest baby boy, weighing an astonishing 17.2 oz!!!! She almost bit me 3 times while trying to get him out. Very unusual for her, but clearly it was painful. Unfortunately this was only the first clue as to what was to come... At that point I was still clueless.
Over the course of the next 8 hours we delivered 7 healthy baby GIRLS!!!!! YAY!!! And 5 healthy baby BOYS!!!!!
12 PUPPIES!!!!
I haven't had a litter this large in 13 years, since my very first litter! 😳🫠🥳😍
And to be honest, it was actually 13 puppies. Our final puppy was a mummified puppy that probably passed several weeks ago. It was a cool experience, but a sad one. Something I had only heard in stories.
Holly's labor was difficult. She has an extremely narrow pelvis, resulting in over half the litter being born outside of their sacs, broken sacs and multiples with placental detachment. 😳 That's scary.
Several puppies were born, and extra placentas presented with them, which was great! But after our final 13th mummified puppy was past, we were still missing 2 placentas.
At this point I have realized that her pelvis is narrow and causing these complications.... So is she going to be able to get these other two out??? Did I just miss one during a delivery and it wasn't seen? Did she loose one while out on a potty break during labor and I was too focused on her not dumping a puppy out on the lawn???
So many questions....
The answer: WAIT.

Give amoxicillin and hope that she has or will pass them.
Happy to report:
I did deliver one on a mid-night bathroom trip. Yay!!🎉
But still missing number 2...
I am hopeful I missed it.
For now we continue to monitor, like a hawk.
She is acting as if she is recovering normal, puppies are healthy and gaining weight!
We have unfortunately had 2 Emergency trips to the vet that resulted in stitches for 2 puppies. 😩
I will cover this at a later time in more detail, but both were freak accidents and completely shocking to have happen.
For now we would like to introduce you to Holly Berry's beautiful 12 babies 🥰❤️🐾
All are currently looking for homes and we are seeking 1 Guardian for a very special baby from this litter to join our breeding program while living it's best life with their forever family 🥰
