Happy Vet Tech Week!! This week we will be showcasing just a few of the many things our RVTs do during a shift!

Today we are highlighting the skill of drawing blood as well as using the accessed vein to administer important medications (such as pain medications, sedatives or anti nausea injections) as shown in this video, to keep our patients both comfortable and at ease during their visits.

There’s something pretty special about spending the day with the future of veterinary medicine. 🧡

We had such a great day at the 2026 Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine Career Expo, talking with students about what a career at AcutePet Urgent Care can look like — from externships to life as a DVM and everything that makes our teams special.

Dr. John Anastasio represented our medical leadership and shared more about externship and DVM opportunities. Annie Gerding, DVM — and proud OSU alum — gave students a firsthand look at life as an AcutePet veterinarian, while Elissa Mohler, our Grove City Practice Manager, spoke to the support, culture and people behind our hospitals.

And THAT is our favorite part of days like this: students getting to hear directly from the people who are living our mission every day.

So many great conversations, so much excitement for what’s ahead, and a lot to be proud of.

🎉 Congratulations to Samantha, our Lead Client Care Representative at our Beavercreek location, featured in the North American Association of Veterinary Receptionists NAAVR's September Newsletter!

Her article, "There's No 'Just' About It: Why Investing in Yourself Matters," speaks to anyone who's ever had their job title undersell everything they actually do. Samantha writes about the many roles CSRs juggle — from client education to team support — and shares real, practical ways to protect your energy and set boundaries along the way.

With 16 years of experience in veterinary care, Samantha knows firsthand that CSRs are, in her words, "the heartbeat of the practice." We couldn't agree more. Thank you for representing AcutePet and advocating for CSRs everywhere, Samantha! 🐾

This is sweet Maggie!

She came in to see us after her owner noticed her scratching at her ears and shaking her head! We ran an ear cytology and found a yeast infection in her right ear. Maggie was such a brave girl for her ear cleaning (the cheese we offered helped as well!) and we sent her home with some medications to help with the infection and inflammation!

It was a pleasure meeting this lovable girl and we hope she feels better soon!

Happy Labor Day from the hardest working (and best flower-smelling) team at AcutePet 🧡

Fun fact: Boxers are officially classified as a working breed. Our team's boxers took that job title very seriously this weekend. Shelby, our HR Director, has two very dedicated employees: Selah clocked in with a measuring tape (very important renovation project, we're told), while Sunny supervised some tractor work. Our Finance Assistant Veronica's family got in on it too. Their boxer Bentley took the day to stop and smell the flowers.

Whatever "working" looks like for you today, we hope it involves good company and maybe a snack. Our teams are here until 4 if you need us, but we hope you don't 🧡
