Sometimes the old saying really is true — put on a little makeup, fix your hair, and suddenly you feel like yourself again 💁‍♀️🐾

After surgery left this sweet girl with a slightly… creative haircut, her family made sure she was still feeling fabulous with the help of a very stylish wig. Safe to say she is absolutely rocking the look!

At Northfield, we always want our patients feeling their best — even if that occasionally means embracing a temporary “bad hair day” on the road to recovery. We think she wears both looks beautifully!

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave individuals who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice and the freedoms they helped protect.

Northfield Veterinary Hospital will be closed on Memorial Day. We will reopen Tuesday, May 26 at 8:00 AM.

Erikah is one of those people who brings positivity everywhere she goes. She is always smiling, always ready to lend a helping hand, and always looking for ways to make both pets and people feel a little more comfortable during their visit.

She has a special talent for working with “spicy” cats and nervous pets, approaching them with patience, gentleness, and understanding. Whether she’s helping during treatments, sneaking in extra cuddles, or giving a patient a little extra love before they head home, Erikah truly makes a difference in the experience our patients have at Northfield.

Her compassionate nature and upbeat attitude never go unnoticed by our team. She brings such a warm and supportive energy to the clinic every single day, and we are so grateful for the care she gives to every patient she meets.

Outside of work, Erikah loves spending time with her family, her dog Czaree, and her cat Chi Chi.

Tyler is often lovingly referred to as “the calm” in our clinic — and anyone who has met him understands why. His laid-back personality, steady presence, and sense of humor keep both our team and patients feeling at ease throughout the day.

Tyler is always one of the first to jump in and help, whether that means holding a nervous pet, assisting a teammate, or learning a new technical skill. Since joining Northfield, his knowledge and hands-on abilities have grown tremendously, and we are so proud of all he has accomplished.

You can also count on Tyler to keep everyone updated on the Guardians score, talk weather forecasts, or share fishing stories — especially if it’s nice enough for him to spend his day off out on the water!

In addition to caring for patients, Tyler serves as our safety coordinator and works hard to keep our team informed and protected with important safety practices and regulations.

Thank you, Tyler, for the positivity, dedication, and calm energy you bring to Northfield every single day. Our clinic would not be the same without you!

Debbi is our go-to cat lady and one of the calming hearts of our hospital. She has a special way of helping even the most nervous pets settle in and feel safe during their visit.

She goes above and beyond for our patients every day — from preparing special snacks for our furry friends to winning over pups with whipped cream pup cups topped with sprinkles. If there’s a pet in need of a little extra comfort, Debbi is always ready to help.

Behind the scenes, Debbi also plays a huge role in making sure our equipment and machines are maintained and running smoothly so we can continue providing excellent care to our patients.

Outside of the clinic, Debbi loves spending time with her beloved kitties: So Bad, Nova, and Petunia.

Ramona is always ready to jump in wherever she is needed. Whether she’s offering treats, extra snuggles, or simply a calming presence, she has a special way of helping pets feel safe and comfortable — even if it means ending the day covered in food or fur!

Beyond her fun and caring personality, Ramona is deeply passionate about veterinary medicine and incredibly dedicated to our hospital, patients, and team. Her compassion shines through in every interaction, and both pets and people feel it.

Outside of the clinic, Ramona loves all things spooky and Halloween-related. When she’s not at work, you can usually find her cuddling her FIVE Chihuahuas or enjoying a good scary movie.

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible veterinary assistants who help keep our hospital moving with compassion, teamwork, and heart every single day. 💙🐾

From comforting nervous pets and helping during procedures, to supporting our doctors, educating clients, and somehow still finding time to hand out treats and belly rubs — veterinary assistants do a little bit of everything.

They are the calm voices, extra hands, patient advocates, and behind-the-scenes magic that help make every visit better for both pets and people.

It is legal in Ohio to own skunks as pets, but you cannot take them from the wild. You must get them from a USDA-licensed breeder, and you will need to obtain a permit from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Skunks can be rewarding to own but have very specific needs for care and behavior. Northfield Veterinary Hospital is experienced with the unique medical needs of these pets, and we are there for you and all your fur babies!

This sweet little kitten was found outside a theater during a performance of Cinderella — and it seems she may have been waiting for her own fairy tale ending. Now she’s cozying up in her new owner’s ballet pointe shoes like she’s been part of the cast all along. 💕🐾
