We wrapped up summer with a super hot, super fun barn day yesterday before sending these kiddos back to school! From making neon signs and riding the best lesson horses to running through the indoor sprinklers and a full-on water balloon fight..these smiles said it all. Everyone went home a little more tired (and a lot more sandy), which is a win in our book!

Yesterday, we pulled off the ultimate surprise! Kylie, who first joined us as a high school intern this past spring and has stayed on as our Wednesday chore help all summer, started grooming Jake for me a few months back. It didn’t take long—she completely fell in love with him. And yesterday… we got to make Jake hers!

If you know my story, you know it began with the gift of a horse, so this moment is especially near to my heart. I’ve always dreamed of the day I got to pay that life changing gift forward.

Kylie, you are the light of my barn. Your joy, your “I get to” attitude, and the way you embrace life inspires everyone around you. Thank you for being such a bright light in this world. Now… enjoy every moment with your new horse!

First SESDHSA show of the year on Saturday! It was a perfect day for a horse show. Always fun to introduce some of our lesson students to the world of showing!
