Have wanted to check out UP Michigan for years, after many trips transporting detection dogs from Michigan to CT.

It’s a special place. All places have something unique. Beautiful beaches, waterfalls, hiking and camping. I loved all of it but, what I loved most is laughing hard everyday. I’ve never laughed this much on a trip, and I think that’s my favorite part.

We head south, then make our way East. We plan to visit guide dogs, meet new people and visit friends along the way.🩵

It’s funny what we look for in our next dog. We knew our next after losing Sadie and Tao last year, needed to love people and dogs, as our lifestyle is full of both, especially the rotating door of guide dogs who are at our home. But, after that I really wanted a dog to snuggle with me. My first dog Fenway held that spot for 10 years, when she passed it was Tao’s spot for 13.5 years and I deeply missed this with my girl dogs when Tao passed. So glad Relic is a super snuggler. I believe we are sent our dogs from something so much higher, and our previous dogs have an influence in the choice. Relic is a little of all my past dogs and a whole lot of her own personality. Everyday we learn a little more about each other, and I’ve never had a dog slide into our life quite as easy as she has.💜

I started practicing yoga with Tao over 9 years ago, since then I’ve practiced with all of my dogs. It looks and feels different with each one but, I’ve found dogs really enjoy when we are calm, connected and present.

This practice has influenced how I train dogs and help others with training and their relationship with their dogs.

This is Relic’s first time during a yoga session with me, I was stretching slowly and listening to sound bowls. At 6.5 months old, I was simply curious what her natural response would be. Such a beautiful reminder of our presence with our dogs, they really are our mirrors. 🤍✨
