Windsor Animal Shelter

Windsor Animal Shelter Call us at (860) 688-5273. Adoption application: https://www.jotform.com/form/232426158492156 The current adoption fee for a spayed/neutered stray is $5.00.

This is the official page of the Windsor, CT Animal Control Officer and Animal Shelter. New owners are responsible for obtaining necessary vaccinations and vet care from their own vet at their own expense. The adoption fee for animals that have not been spayed or neutered is $50.00, which includes the State of Connecticut Pet Population Program voucher. The voucher covers the spaying/neutering and

two shots for your adopted pet. We require the submission of an adoption application for any of our animals prior to setting up a meet and greet. Connecticut requires all dog owners to purchase an animal license for their pet. Licensing greatly assists in returning a lost pet to its home. A license is the primary identification for dogs and must be worn on the pet’s collar. Animal License fees are:

All Unspayed or unneutered Dogs $19.00
All Spayed or Neutered Dogs $8.00
Kennel License $52.00

Dog licenses can be obtained at the Windsor Town Clerks office located at 275 Broad Street. All dog licenses must be renewed in June of each year regardless of when the current license was purchased. All dogs have to be vaccinated for rabies before a license can be obtained. State Statute requires that all domestic dogs and cats be vaccinated for rabies at three months of age. ❤️Meet Peanut and Butters!❤️

This adorable duo was found abandoned together and haven’t left each others side. They will available for adoption after 11/7/25 and would love to find their furever home together. Both girls are incredibly sweet as well as house broken. They will be spayed and vaccinated prior to adoption. It’s unknown how they feel about kids or cat friends.

Peanut (Pekingese/Papillon mix), female, approximately 1-2 years old, happy and active.

Butters (Shih Tzu), approximately 4-5 years old. Such a cuddle bug and can’t wait to curl up in your lap.

If you are interested in welcoming these cuties into your home, call 860-594-6259 or email [email protected] to request an adoption application.

One Year. Still Waiting. 💔

Delphi Marie has officially spent an entire year at the shelter, twelve months of watching her friends come and go, quietly hoping her turn might finally come next.

She’s a soft-eyed sweetheart with the spirit of a Jane Austen heroine: graceful, misunderstood, and waiting for the right human to see her heart beneath the hesitation.

Delphi’s story started rough. She was found abandoned outside, learning the hard way that the world isn’t always kind. So yes, she’s cautious. A little shy. She’d rather observe than rush in. But she’s so ready for the life she’s been dreaming of, one filled with calm spaces, gentle hands, and maybe a confident feline friend to show her that people mean love, not fear.

Life in the shelter has been long and lonely for this quiet girl. But her story doesn’t have to end here.

If you’re someone who believes trust is something worth earning, that love doesn’t have to be loud to be deep, Delphi Marie might just be the one you’ve been waiting for, too.

✨ After a year of waiting, let’s make sure her next anniversary is celebrated at home.
