🚪👻 One of the biggest Halloween hazards for pets isn't in the candy bowl—it's the front door.

Trick-or-treaters mean strangers, costumes, noise, doorbells, and a door opening over and over again.

Before the chaos starts, make sure pets are secure and ID tags and microchip information are up to date. 🎃🐾

Repeated vomiting, lethargy, abdominal pain, blood, inability to keep water down, or the possibility they swallowed something they shouldn't have? That's different.

🐈‍⬛🖤 It's officially house panther season.

Black cats have spent way too long being associated with bad luck. We think they're pretty fantastic—tiny shadows with whiskers, opinions, and a habit of disappearing completely when sitting on dark furniture.

🎃 Planning a Halloween costume for your pet?

Make sure it doesn't restrict movement or breathing, cause overheating, or have little pieces they can chew off and swallow.

And if your pet clearly hates it... take your picture and release them from their tiny polyester prison. 😂👻

I'm talking about the importance of geriatric blood work as part of our routine wellness exams. This blood work probably won't prevent many diseases, but it can help us pick up on changes before major clinical signs develop. That can help us slow the progression of these disorders. And that will help us increase the quality lifespan of your pet.

🎃 It's October, which means the internet is about to prescribe pumpkin for basically everything.

Plain pumpkin can be helpful for some pets and some tummy troubles—but it isn't a cure-all, and pumpkin pie filling is NOT the same thing as plain pumpkin.

When in doubt, check with your veterinarian before letting Dr. Google handle the treatment plan. 😉

📱 Veterinary appointment tip: VIDEO IT!

Limping, coughing, shaking, strange breathing, odd movements—if your pet is doing something unusual that comes and goes, grab a quick video if you safely can.

Because we all know the second they walk into the hospital to see the doctor, they'll act completely normal. 😑😂
