Here is some great information in regards to reading and understanding body language for dogs. Sometimes the signs are very subtle, but they are there.

We are all so confused as to why Tilly Girl is still with us. She’s a fun loving girl and would absolutely love a house to call a home this coming summer!

Let’s get this girl out of here, it’s no place for a pup!

Please share her post in hopes her future owners will see it and adopt her! 🥰

🐱 Our team successfully Trapped, Spayed/Neutered, and Released nearly 40 feral cats yesterday! This was our first mass event, a great success, and we certainly hope to do more this year!

The community has been asking for this for years, and we are finally able to start making a bigger dent in the overpopulation problem. We are extremely thankful to Dr Williams, DVM for bringing this option to us, and our staff who put in many hours and efforts bringing this all together!

🔔 This also isn’t possible without donations so please keep those coming and please spay/neuter your pets!

❤️ Your Shelby County Shelter Team
(Brad, Matt, & Penny not pictured)

*all cats were released healthy, vaccinated for rabies, and spayed/neutered, either back to their home area or to cat friendly barns with plenty of food & mice.

This stunning lady is Nova 🚀

She’s 3 years old and is fully vetted and ready to go!!

She told us that she’s looking for a family that is active during the day and then would love to snuggle up on the couch and watch a good movie! She wants all the attention to herself, so no other dogs would be best. Because of her energy level, early middle schoolers would be ideal.

Her adoption fee is $130.

🐈 TNR 🐈

Just a reminder; our TNR Program is working its way around the City of Shelbyville in hopes of helping with the feral cat populations. This program takes alot of planning with many of our staff and volunteers.

Please be respectful of their hard work and leave the traps alone. The traps are being well taken care of and the cats that are successfully caught will be fed, spayed or neutered, and vaccinated for rabies. Then released.

If you are looking for a (or a few barn cats) please call the shelter for more information. 217-774-4932

🐈 TNR - Trap•Neuter•Release 🐈

You might spot some live traps throughout the City of Shelbyville. Please leave them be; our first round of TNR Cats are being caught in order to help with the feral/unsocialized cat population.

Our staff is working diligently to insure that the cats are being well taken care of. These cats will be examined, fixed, and vaccinated for rabies.

If you see a trap that has been set off, please leave it alone. You can call our office (217-774-4932) with the location of the trap and we will come and retrieve it. Otherwise; the traps are checked daily.

🐱If you have personal inside/outside cats; it would be best to keep them inside for the next couple weeks. 🐱

Trap 🐈 Neuter 🐈 Release

Our first round of TNR Cats will be caught in the up coming days. This takes a lot of planning and hard work from our staff and volunteers.

We ask that if you see a live trap around the City of Shelbyville to please leave it be. We are checking the traps daily. These cats are getting fed, spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies before being released healthy.

If you see a trap that has done its job correctly and has caught an animal; please feel free to call our facility at 217-774-4932 with the address.

Again, please leave the traps alone! They are being checked daily and the cats are being taken care of.

With that being said; if you are interested in housing some barn cats after their vetting; please reach out to us! 217-774-4932
