I’ve had a lot of questions lately about boarding so I thought maybe I would hop on here and give a little overview of our boarding and system!

We have 11 kennels we book for boarding and one kennel we use as an “extra” for any sort of emergency or accidental booking! So we in total have 12 kennels!

10 of those 11 kennels are our “standard” size kennel and they are 5’x5’. We then have one extra large kennel that is 10”x5’ these are all very spacious options!
Our standard kennel is large enough to fit any one size (s-xl), two medium/large or 3 extra small
Dogs! Our extra large is perfect for the larger families with multiple larger dogs!

We also have a spacious backyard with a nice private country feel where dogs can run around and play/do their business! (And even do some chicken watching 🐓) P**p is picked up daily to ensure a clean environment!

We charge by calendar day.
Our standard kennel is $35/day + $15 extra/day for extra dogs (the $15 is a solid charge no matter how many extra dogs)
Our XL kennel is $45/day + $20 extra/day for extra dogs.

We have shifts that run daily AM/Midday/PM so the dogs will never go more than a few hours between shifts! During those shifts they are provided multiple letouts, playing time, and feeding/any other care needed!

We do pickups and dropoffs two times a day in the morning and evening!

M-Sat - 7:30-8:30AM. and 6-8PM
Sunday - 8-9AM and 6-8 PM

We provide cots, and bowls and keep anything else on hand if needed (blankets, beds, toys etc.) but you are always welcome to bring whatever makes your dog comfy! We do ask that you
Provide food. We are also able to administer medication and keeping detailed logs of any animal given meds.

We truly love what we do here and love caring for your dogs while you are away!

🐾Anna Perry🐾

Have you ever wondered how your dog smells so good and their fur is buttery soft and clean! Anna is the girl standing at the bathtub, scrubbing and rinsing away the stink and grime 😉. Then drying and prepping for any other grooming needs!

And if you didn’t know, I consider the bath and dry process to be THE most important part of a groom. Without a good wash and dry foundation there is no good groom. So I don’t just trust it to anyone!

Anna started out with us in boarding and quickly filled the position of bather when we needed it and has been there ever since while also attending school at Lakeland!

She also does regular boarding shifts, office work, cleaning and the occasional mowing 😋
She does it all!

She has been the perfect addition to our team, always greeting everyone with kindness and treating your dogs the same way you would treat them at home. With Love!

(Don’t worry I’m not going anywhere😉)

I felt like it has been awhile since I’ve gotten on here and shown my face again! There are SO many new customers so I felt it was a good time to reintroduce myself!

Hi, I’m Jennifer 👋🏼. Me and my Husband Cody opened up “Three Tails Parlor and Pantry of Shelbyville” after acquiring “The Pooch Parlor” in 2018 uptown where the Dam Pub is now located! In 2021 we purchased a home in Shelbyville and began moving the business to our shed in hopes of opening up boarding! I opened this business with little grooming experience and a big dream! I graduated from UofI in 2016 with my Bachelors in Animal Science and minor of Food and Agribusiness! I have always had a passion for dogs so I knew this was the business for me! (I’m sure you have all seen my crazy three dogs running around my backyard- or possibly barking you a “hello”)

In those 8 years I have had the ULTIMATE pleasure of caring for SO many of your dogs. This business has been EXACTLY what I dreamt it to be. In 2022 when me and my husband decided to grow our family I began stepping away so I could focus a little more on my kids while also working a bit. And I can’t thank my customers enough for sticking by my side through all of my life changes!

As most of you know there have been some sudden changes in the shop in the last 6 weeks and I unexpectedly have stepped back in full time grooming! And BOY have I missed you all and your pups! I know I’ll say this a million times but I truly do believe I have the best customers. you all have made this transition for me SEAMLESS and have been SO kind. This season of my life is obviously a bit more chaotic for me than before. There have been a lot of appt changes, moving things around and trying my best to figure out the grooming schedule while also trying to prioritize my family and their activities that I set in place before stepping back in. And you all have been SO understanding.

So I just wanted to say THANK YOU. Thank you for making this transition so much easier for me.

With that being said. While I LOVE seeing you all everyday I will be transitioning to part time so I can get the best of both worlds. I will be switching my GROOMING hours to 3 days a week instead of 5 this summer! These hours will be T/Th/F and will transition back to M/W/F during the school year! I just don’t want to miss out on summer days with my family. Most of you have already been made aware of this and have met the change with such grace. And I can’t thank you enough for that 🩷
I am trying my BEST to not have to get rid of any customers. So PLEASE bear with me on scheduling changes. I care for you and your dogs so much and am working hard to try and make it all work!

THIS DOES NOT EFFECT BOARDING. Boarding hours will remain the same as I have SO much help in the boarding room. (Can I just say you guys have raised some WONDERFUL kids around here) the help I get from the students in the area is amazing and I appreciate every single one of them 🫶🏼. I will need to make a separate post soon highlighting the amazing help I have here!

So just THANK YOU. Thank you for being such a wonderful community. We are not from here and you all have taken us in like one of your own. Me and Cody knew from the moment we got here that this was our new home and we would be raising our kids here. I truly love this town and am so thankful for the opportunities it has awarded me and my family!
