Hobbycroft Farm

Hobbycroft Farm Hobbycroft Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat Farm located in central Illinois Due to health problems we have cut way back on the daylilies and selling them.

We are a family who use to raise full size dairy goats for over 30 years and then after our children became adults and left, we got out of the dairy goat business and started raising daylillies. For health reasons and economic concerns, we decided to start raising some chickens for eggs and got back into the dairy goats. We decided on the Nigerian Dwarfs because they are easier to handle than the

Saanen, Alpine, Toggenburg, Nubian, & LaManchas that we use to raise. Nigerians only weigh about 65 to 70 pounds full grown and produce an average of 1 1/2 quarts a day. We have found their milk to be delicious and is higher in butterfat (appox 6%) which makes it sweeter tasting. Wethered bucks make ideal pets. We are located in central Illinois in Shelbyville. Our bloodlines are Lost Valley, Buttin Heads, Fairlea & Flat Rock.

God has been providing the girls with treats to hopefully last all winter. Working on our 4th container of acorns. Yummy 🤤 they love acorns. This was just from picking up this morning in the drizzling rain.

So thankful God watches over us (including the herd). Everyone tested negative in our annual testing.

Man I like this doe. She does have a bit of extra fat but she is a dream to milk out and such a level top line (not perfect but nice). Strong body and man for a first freshener she milks a very nice amount.
