🐾Year-round heartworm prevention
🐾Annual heartworm testing
🐾Keeping all pets up to date on preventative care
Heartworm disease is preventable, and prevention is far easier, and much less expensive, than treatment!

🐾Today is National Check the Chip Day!🐾
Microchips greatly increase the chances of locating lost pets, but a microchip only works if its registration information is up to date and accurate.
"Check the Chip Day" is the perfect time to check your pets microchip registration information and update it if it's either incomplete, or no longer correct.
If your pet is not microchipped, be sure to ask someone about our microchipping services during your next visit!

Did you know that dogs have a three eyelids?

This third eyelid is called a nictitating membrane. This is a membrane that sweeps horizontally across the eye to help clear debris, keep the eye moist, and protect the eye while still allowing the dog to see. Many other animals, including cats, birds, reptiles, and amphibians, also have nictitating membranes!

In moderation, watermelon is a fun and healthy snack for your pets. However, make sure to remove the rind and any seeds to avoid intestinal blockages or an upset stomach so your pet can safely enjoy this classic summer treat!

Tip: place cut up watermelon in the freezer overnight for a fun enrichment treat that can help your pet stay cool in the heat!!

Now is the perfect time to check your pet's medications and make sure you're prepared for the holiday weekend. Fireworks and other festivities can be stressful for many pets, so don't wait until the last minute to refill prescriptions or schedule an appointment.
Reminder: Our offices will be closed on Saturday, July 4th.
If your pet does need a medication refill or an appointment before the holiday, please contact one of our clinics as soon as possible so that we can assure your pets have a safe and comfortable holiday!

Some important pet safety tips for the upcoming holiday!

The 4th of July is quickly approaching, and we want to share a couple tips to help keep your pets safe this holiday!🇺🇸

If your pet is outdoors, be sure that they have plenty of fresh water and shade. Also, ensure that they are kept away from any grills or open flames.

While it may be tempting to share holiday treats, avoid giving them table scraps or other people food.🌭

Fireworks can be extremely stressful, and potentially dangerous, to dogs and cats. To help keep them calm and safe:
- Try and keep pets indoors
- Exercise them during the day to tucker them out
- Consider using toys or treats to provide comfort and distraction
- Make sure that they are wearing a collar with up to date I.D. tags

More pets go missing on the 4th of July than any other day of the year. With a little preparation, you can help to ensure a safe and happy holiday for you, and your pets!
