Today a very special family member, friend to so many kids and loved one passed away today. Sheba not only was my family pet, but also a certified therapy dog to so many children and adults. She loved what she did and always looked forward to going to schools to see HER KIDS!! She would fall asleep when the school children read to her, always ready to show off her tricks or give a paw or kiss to her kids, and her favorite was to play games like soccer with them. (She always won every game she played against the children/teachers. Great soccer player/goalie )
Sheba was so loving and caring to not only her humans, but also to her other fur siblings. She would allow Mama (cat) to groom her, Leo (cat) pretend to nurse and kneed on her, and would play very gently with everyone. She was kind to our rabbit and bearded dragon.
She a was an amazing fur baby to us. She was super smart, knew lots of tricks/commands, loved to travel with us everywhere we would go, and would always greet us with a big warm welcome when we would get home!!! We already miss her so much and things will not be the same with out her. She will always be a part of our hearts forever!
Sheba struggled with asthma and environmental / food allergies for most of her life. 2018 ended up being a very bad year for allergies. She was not able to finish out the school year or do summer school with her kids. We just were not able to get her allergies under control. She started on allergy shots, eating a very strict organic homemade food that cost over $500 per month. She just continued to have problems. We ended up going and getting a second opinion and found out she was in the later stage of lymphoma. Sheba was diagnosed 3 weeks and 1 day ago. We had an amazing new vet (the one who diagnosed her) and helped us try to prolong Sheba's life as long as possible with having quality of life. Sheba had ups and downs, but more positives throughout this time. We very much enjoyed every moment with her for the last three weeks.
I would like to thank all the EZ-PZ clients that bent over backwards to try and let me have some extra quality time with her while pet sitting their home. It was greatly appreciated. My apologies to other EZ-PZ clients that might have been affected by this because once I knew my pup was diagnosed I stopped taking anymore bookings until Sheba passed away. I know that had to be a strain on the client and trying to find another sitter.
Sheba you will be forever missed and we will love you forever. Thank you for being the best dog to us and your school kids!!
