Here's some information about wildlife in our area!

This time of year, we receive questions concerning fawns and other native wildlife that appear to be abandoned. Because of this, we wanted to share some tips on what to do if you ever find a wild animal that is in need.

Observe the animal from a distance and assess the situation.

Do NOT touch or pick up the animal, give it food or water, try to care for it yourself, or move it unless it is in immediate danger.

Do NOT bring them to the clinic. Veterinary clinics are not legally permitted to treat or provide care for native wild animals.

If you are unsure of the situation, call a wildlife rehabilitator for guidance.

This week: Ava

Ava has been employed with Veterinary Wellness Partners since March of 2024 and works across all five locations. She graduated from the University of Akron in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, focusing on Strength and Conditioning. Ava is the proud owner of a beagle named Ella. In her free time, she enjoys lifting and running, as well as taking part in "grandma hobbies".

Exciting Update!

We’re happy to share that our Wednesday hours have been extended!

Starting this week, we will be open 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

This means more availability and flexibility for you throughout the week. We look forward to seeing you!

This week: Alisha

Alisha started as an extern with VWP in December of 2023 and was officially hired in February of 2024. She has had an interest in veterinary medicine since she was very young and always dreamed of working with animals. Alisha currently has two dogs, Millie and Sammie, and two cats, Lenny and Gus Gus.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her pets, her husband Steven, and their two children, Xavier and Elijah. Their family loves getting outdoors together, especially hiking and camping. For Alisha, the best part of her job is being able to make a difference in the lives of pets.

This week: Amanda

Amanda serves as the Team Lead in Customer Service at our Southern Medina location, and brings nine years of experience in the veterinary field, including five years with VWP. She lives locally with her husband, Clay, and their daughter. At home, Amanda cares for two dogs—Daisy, an Australian Cattle Dog, and Zoey, a Beagle—as well as two rabbits, Lavender and Margo, which her daughter proudly shows in 4H. Growing up, Amanda developed a deep love for all animals and knew from a young age that she wanted to work in the veterinary field. An interesting fact about her is that she completed several school projects and presentations on Jane Goodall, who was a major inspiration throughout her childhood. In her free time, Amanda enjoys camping, gardening, and cooking.
