In Anne Arundel County, parking on public community roads is governed by county code and state vehicle laws. Vehicles must be operable, registered, and parked facing the direction of authorized traffic within 12 inches of the right-hand curb. Parking enforcement on public county roads is handled by the Anne Arundel County Police Department.General Prohibitions and Distance RulesFire hydrants: No parking within 15 feet.Stop signs and signals: No parking within 30 feet of the approach.Crosswalks and intersections: No parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk or inside an intersection.Driveways: No parking in front of public driveways, or private driveways without the owner's consent.Sidewalks and travel lanes: Parking on sidewalks, planting strips, or active traffic lanes is strictly prohibited.Mailboxes and transit: Cannot block access to mailboxes or mass transit stops

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ELMHURST RESIDENTS!!! ACTION NEEDED!!!✈️✈️✈️

Airport Noise: Some longer-term residents might recall the significant increase in airplane traffic that happened in 2014 and then the dramatic reduction in 2024 to the current noise levels. The 2024 changes were a result of years of work by EIA with the FAA and the BWI Roundtable but resulted in a large increase in concentrated airplane traffic and noise in the communities south of us, which are represented by 10 vocal HOAs. The BWI Roundtable has submitted a request to the FAA to consider a compromise which would better disperse airplane traffic. This would mean more traffic returning over our communities, hopefully (not guaranteed) not at the pre-2024 levels. We will keep you informed as to the progress of these potential changes. If you have concerns about this, please let us know and, more importantly, call your local state legislators:
