The Seattle Animal Shelter is collecting pet food donations for our upcoming Pet Food Bank and we need your help! We’re currently seeking donations of dog and cat food, preferably small bags. If you have any items to spare, please consider dropping them off at the shelter and we’ll distribute them at our next pet food bank event.

These events are free, open to the public and happen the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon at the Seattle Animal Shelter.

Did you know that senior dogs or cats (11 years old and older) or who have special needs qualify for an adoption fee of $0!?! That’s right! You could adopt Yams, for $0 (other fees still apply).

If you’re looking for a senior lady to join your world, come meet her during adoption hours Tuesday - Sunday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Here’s what one of our volunteers shared about her:

Yams ❤️ Sweet senior, great on leash, super easy to handle. She has a great energy for her age and is eager to walk. We enjoyed walking more than 30 minutes this morning. She LOVES treats and she can sit for them. You can’t resist her sweet eyes looking at you 😄

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, donated, planned, prepped, volunteered, and more at our 26th Annual Furry 5K! It was an amazing day ☀️ and because of you we raised over $117,000 to support animals in need! 🎉🎉🎉 And as a bonus, 5 dogs were adopted directly from the event and went home with their FURever families! ❤️🐾

We can’t wait for next year! 👟🥇
