Friendly & Feral Cat Rescue is changing it's name to Friendly and Furry Cat Rescue, because we no longer can tend to or help with feral cats. and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. Special appts. by request only on Mondays. Our sweet girl May is 13-years-old, but she certainly doesn’t act like it. 🖤💚 This gorgeous cat may be a senior, but she’s got endless love to give, a playful spirit, and a purr that could register on the Richter scale!

May absolutely adores people — she’ll trot right up to greet you with her silky fur, gentle paws, and a rumbling purr that says “you’re my favorite human now.” 😻 Whether she’s chasing a toy or curling up in your lap for some cozy time, May is pure joy and magic.

She’s not just a cat — she’s a delight. 💫

🐾 Meet Gertie – A Special Senior Lady Looking for a Loving Home 🐾

This shy soul is Gertie, a 10-year-old cat who’s been through a lot. After the loss of her cherished owner, Gertie is now searching for a kind, patient person to give her a quiet, loving home where she can finally feel safe again. 💕

Gertie is a bit nervous in the shelter setting and we don’t blame her considering all the changes she’s been through. She may hiss at first, but don’t be discouraged! It’s just her way of saying “I’m scared.” With time and gentle care, we’re certain Gertie can build trust and form a bond with the right person. 🐱💗

She has very few teeth left, so soft food is her jam, and she’s ready to settle into a cozy space where she can take her time getting to know her new family. While Gertie is a bit of a “hider” right now, we know she just needs someone with the patience to help her come out of her shell. She might not be the “in-your-face” type of cat, but once she trusts you, she’ll show her sweet, quiet side.

Gertie will thrive in a calm, understanding environment, where her new family can offer her the time and love she needs to feel comfortable. If you’re looking for a cat who needs time, compassion, and a gentle touch – Gertie might just be the one for you. ❤️

Meet Siren- The Handsome Orange Tabby with a Lot to Say 🧡🐾

Siren is a 5-year-old cutie with a gentle disposition and a beautiful orange coat. This mature guy is looking for a new beginning after the heartbreaking loss of his beloved owner. 💔

Despite the changes in his life, Siren remains affectionate, playful, and full of personality. He’s the perfect mix of laid back and lively- happy to lounge by your side, but always ready for a good play session or some pets. And yes, he has been known to be a chatterbox! Siren earned his name thanks to his signature meows and certainly knows how to express himself.

Say hello to Oliver and Cora! These adorable 9-month-old kitten siblings were found outside and have been learning to trust and thrive in the comforts of indoor living.🏡 They can be adopted separately as they have not shown to be bonded.

Oliver is the more outgoing of the two – curious, playful, and starting to explore more. Cora is a little more reserved than Oliver, but once she trusts you, she loves gentle pets and quiet cuddle time. She especially prefers belly rubs! Both are shy at first, but with a little patience and the right home, their sweet and playful personalities will be given the space to shine. ☀️

Our Story

Friendly & Feral Cat Rescue is a 501c3s non-kill and not-for-profit shelter that has just relocated from Petco in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, to the Golf Rose Pet Store at 1375 N. Roselle Road (southeast corner of Roselle and Re*****on Roads) in Schaumburg, IL 60195. All of our rescued cats will reside in our adoption Center at this location until they find suitable and forever, loving homes. We would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Petco and The Petco Foundation for supporting us over the past several years that has given us the ability to adopt hundreds of homeless felines.
