Pets can feel the changes when back to school season comes around. 🎒 Keep an eye out for signs of stress, and give us a call at 847-885-3344 if anything seems off.

Signs of stress include (but are not limited to):
1. Decreased appetite
2. Destructive behavior such as chewing or scratching
3. Excessive barking
4. Panting, licking or drooling

This is Rukia. No, she is not in prison, but she HAS had a rough few days. This silly pup stole some corn on the cob from her people. After vomiting multiple times at home and being induced to do so at the hospital, you'd think she'd be in the clear. But no. Yesterday, Rukia needed surgery to remove the final stubborn pieces. Her message to your pets? Leave the corn cobs in the trash!

We know many of you will be having barbecues in honor of Labor Day Weekend – PLEASE keep your pets away from the people food… ESPECIALLY corn on the cob. IF you suspect that your pet eats a corn cob, please call us right away. Corn cobs are NOT digestible. Pets (as in Rukia's case) can break them into MANY smaller pieces, but the broken pieces can still cause trouble. It can take hours (or even days) before signs of an intestinal blockage show.

As always, we’re open all day, all weekend – even Monday. We hope you don’t have a pet emergency, but we’ll be here in case you do! Call us at 847-885-3344 any time!
