Hi, I’m Toby — a certified lap cat and full-time cuddle expert. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate buddy who loves being held, I’m your guy. I could spend all day curled up in your arms, soaking up pets and giving you sweet little kisses in return. I bring calm and charm wherever I go—unless it’s mealtime. Then things get serious.

I love to play—teaser toys, spring toys, tunnels—you name it. I have a blast chasing my littermates and zipping around, but I’m a pretty laid-back guy overall…until food shows up. Let’s just say I’ve got strong feelings about sharing, and I’m not afraid to growl a little to protect my bowl.

If you’re searching for a loving, playful companion with a big heart (and some strong food boundaries), I’d love to be your new best friend.

Almost Home adopts kittens under 6 months of age in pairs, as kittens that young are not fully socialized and need a same/similar-age playmate in order not to become a nuisance to family members—including other pets in the home. Adopting kittens in pairs allows them to complete the kitty socialization process, learn good kitty manners, and have a playmate so their humans can sleep at night. We consider adopting single kittens to applicants who have another young kitty under 1 year of age, provided the applicant’s kitten is up to date on all age-appropriate vetting.

Anastacia is a puppy in need of a foster or foster-to-adopt home. 🐾

This sweet girl was found roadside with her sister (Annabella, who we posted yesterday). Two of their siblings had been killed on the road. Fortunately, someone stopped to help Anastacia and her sister before they could meet a similar fate.

AHF would love to bring Anastacia to a loving home that will keep her safe. Can you help? Anastacia is approximately 6 months old. She weighs 16 lbs. and still has some growing to do. She does not have shorter legs like her sister, but she is just as cute! Anastacia is a sweetheart who loves everyone she meets: adults, kids, other dogs, and even cats!

A fuzzy bundle of joy with a heart full of purrs! Gizmo is equal parts cuddlebug and explorer. He lives for lap time, and once he finds a warm, cozy spot, he’ll happily drift off into dreamland—loudly purring the whole time (seriously, you’ve never heard a kitten purr this loud!).

When he's not snuggled up, Gizmo is busy being the bravest little adventurer. He loves chasing his littermates, scaling boxes like a tiny mountain lion, and batting around spring toys and crinkle balls like a pro. Gizmo’s the perfect mix of playful and affectionate, and he’s ready to pounce right into your heart.

The beautiful Penelope is ready for her forever home! 💕

Penelope is a 2-year-old, 60-lb. mix with the cutest whispy ears. Her foster, who has fostered many moms and litters, says she was the dream mama dog. The pups were just days old when they came to AHF, and Penelope cared for them like a pro. But no more of that for her; those adorable babies were her last!

Although Penelope was found as a stray, this good girl definitely had a home at some point. She is so well behaved! She's potty trained and doesn't get into trouble when she has free roam of the house. Penelope absolutely loves people of all ages. She begs for pets and will paw at you when you stop. Penelope also gets along well with other dogs. She hasn't been cat tested, but her foster thinks she would likely be fine around cats.

Hi, I’m Ozzy — a fearless explorer with a big personality and an even bigger love for high places (your shoulder included)! I’m always on the move, climbing to the tallest perch I can find and proudly surveying everything below like the brave little king I am. I love to chase and wrestle with my littermates, zoom through tunnels, and play with any toy that crosses my path—if it moves, I’m on it.

I’m outgoing, energetic, and always up for a new adventure. I enjoy being pet and soaking up affection… until I’ve had my fill, of course. Then I’ll strut off with confidence and charm, ready to conquer the next thing on my kitten to-do list.

Lora was found as a stray, malnourished, exhausted, and covered with fleas. She was take in by our rescue partners and is now spayed and healthy. She is ready for her second chance with AHF and needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home.

This little ginger snap has the kindest eyes and a heart full of love. She is about 1 year old and weighs 20 lbs. She is great with adults and children alike. She's also dog-friendly and cat-friendly! She would do well in a variety of homes.

I’m a brave, curious little guy who loves to explore, play, and meet new people. Whether I’m chasing my siblings, diving into boxes, zooming through tunnels, or snuggling up for a quick cuddle, I’m always on the go and always up for a good time.

Coral came from the streets of Hanover Park, but she’s left that life far behind. When she was rescued with her sister Violet, no one could have guessed she’d soon step into the role of devoted surrogate mama to four lively kittens. For the past few months, Coral has lovingly cared for them—teaching, cuddling, and grooming like a natural.

This silky-soft beauty is gentle and shy, preferring to take things at her own pace. She enjoys short bursts of affection and will cautiously approach when she’s ready for pets—especially if you come bearing her favorite: Churu treats! Once she trusts you, Coral’s soft, soothing purrs are all the reward you need.

Coral doesn’t meow much, but she speaks volumes with her body language—especially when she’s stretching out luxuriously on her favorite palm tree scratcher or batting around her spiral toy with lightning-fast paws.
