The weather is heating up and the summer vibes are here! So before you take off on vacation, head to the beach, or spend the day pool side.. We want you to know how to keep your dogs safe while in or near the water this summer!
Water Safety Tips For Your Dogs:

1. Never leave your dog unattended around water. Just like kids, dogs require constant supervision around water.
2. Make sure there is an accessible exit so your dog can easily get out of the water when needed.
3. Monitor water conditions and hazards like riptides or algae.
4. Learn canine CPR just incase.
5. Dog life jackets should always be used especially if your dog is not a strong swimmer.
6. Make sure your dogs take frequent swim breaks, and stay hydrated with fresh water.

Happy Friday and Happy National Heat Awareness Day! This day is all about bringing awareness to the dangers of hot weather.
Here’s how to keep your dog safe from the summer heat:

1. Provide plenty of shade and accessible water, or a cool safe space indoors.
2. Avoid hot pavement by going for walks early or later when it’s cooler outside.
3. Limit exercise and keep potty breaks short to minimize heat exposure.
4. Cool them down with cooling mats and cooling wraps.
5. Educate yourself on heatstroke signs in dogs and be mindful of your dogs breed. Some dogs can handle temps better than others.
6. Always contact your vet if you have any concerns!

Memorial Day Weekend is here and the weather is going to be perfect!
We’ve created a list of Dog Friendly Things To Do MDW:

1. Go to a local parade to celebrate Veterans.
2. Pack up and head to your favorite dog beach for a day of fun.
3. Host a dog friendly BBQ with all your favorites.
4. Head to your favorite camping spot and enjoy outdoor weekend.
5. Plan a lake day and don’t forget a doggy life jackets!

It’s Friday and it’s National Pizza Day! So we found a yummy dog friendly pizza recipe for you guys to try this weekend!

Ingredients:
5 tsp active dry yeast
1 c chicken broth (warmed 110 degrees)
1 tbs honey
1 c whole wheat flour
1 c flour
1/2 c tomato puree
1 c Parmesan cheese

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl mix yeast, warm broth and honey. Allow the mixture to sit about 5 minutes.
2. Add the flours and knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
3. Place in a lightly oiled bowl and allow to proof in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size, 45 minutes to an hour. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
4. Divide dough into 20 bite-size balls. Form the balls into bagel shapes and place 1 inch apart on a parchment lined sheet. Cover the bagels with a kitchen towel and allow to proof for 30 minutes.
5. Top the bagels with tomatoes and cheese. Then bake until golden brown and crispy, about 30 minutes. Let them cool before serving to your dogs.

Here’s which plants to avoid on your next walk:

1. Foxtails are very common and can get lodged into ears, throats, nose and cause serious complications.
2. Oleandar bushes can cause severe symptoms with just a small amount.
3. Daffodils the bulbs can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
4. Lilies are highly toxic and can cause kidney failure.
5. Foxglove can cause heart problems, seizures, vomiting.
6. Sago Palm can cause liver damage.
