We’ve all seen the headlines. 😡 There’s an active investigation, and everyone has their own opinions.

Mine comes from what I experienced firsthand.

I held Oliver after he came back. I felt his ribs. I saw how much he had changed. That strengthened my commitment to helping the Miranda survivors. Today, Oliver is adopted.🙌🏾

A huge thank you to San Jose Dog Rescue & Outreach and David Trinh for believing in him, giving him the care he deserved, and helping him find his second chance.

Now this story is about Kash.

I helped Kash two years ago while he was at the San Jose Animal Care Center. He overcame his obstacles, got adopted, was later returned to the shelter, transferred to Miranda’s Rescue, and now he’s back in San Jose.

This is his community.

I’m committed to helping Kash find the second chance he deserves.

Bay Area, let’s stand up for these dogs.

San Jose, this is one of your own.

Let’s help Kash find the forever family he deserves.

Coffee Companions has given me purpose, meaning, and a mission bigger than myself.

But lately I’ve been realizing something deeper:

Purpose can guide you, but it can’t replace connection.
A mission can move you, but it can’t hold you.
Animals can love you in a beautiful way, but they can’t replace the people who truly see your heart.

Sometimes we don’t realize the value of someone’s presence until we feel the space they used to fill.

I’m learning. I’m growing. I’m trying to become someone who shows up better, loves better, and doesn’t take meaningful connection for granted.

One breath. One lesson. One step forward.

I’m feeling a lot right now.

I’m thankful. I’m angry. I’m heartbroken. And most of all, I’m relieved that Oliver is safe.

The first photos show Oliver before February, when he was in the care of the Animal Care Center and when I was advocating for him.

In February, his foster parent transferred him to Miranda’s Rescue.

He does not look like the same Oliver, but his spirit is not broken.

Yesterday, when he saw my car, he froze. He knew it was me. When he saw me, he was so happy. That moment was everything, and honestly, one of the most powerful moments I’ve ever had working with animals.

I truly believe if we had not gotten him out, Oliver may not have survived there.

But he’s safe now. Thanks to Dan from and , he’s in the right hands.

We’re going to get him back.
